March 3, 2021 Electronic rock band The Hideaways collaborate with musician Tiny Dyno

Electronic rock band The Hideaways collaborate with musician Tiny Dyno

Soho Bedroom Party’ is the latest single from electronic rock band The Hideaways. The release finds them teaming up with fellow Bristolians Tiny Dyno.

The collaboration started in December 2020 when Tiny Dyno began a rework of the song. “It was intended to be a remix but I’m too much of a pop fiend to endlessly loop intros and middle eights” remarked the track’s producer and Tiny Dyno guitarist Tom Kuras, “it quickly became apparent that this was something different for both bands”.

The single opens with a rush of rumbling bass and pummeling 4/4 disco rock drums. The sparse instrumentation continues as The Hideaways front man Danny Pugh asserts “tomorrow we’ll be astronauts, I promise nothing less”. The minimalism is sacrificed in the chorus. with the addition of kinetic percussion and glistening synths. Pugh is also accompanied by Tiny Dyno’s Emily Gardiner adding her powerful presence and eloquent delivery.

The collaboration results in a departure in sound for both acts. ‘Soho Bedroom Party’ finds The Hideaways eschewing the hard rock production of previous releases, luxuriating in the sounds and production techniques of the late 70’s and early 80’s. Their larger than life lyrics still remain as songwriter Danny Pugh instructs the listener to “Finish the hour, leave me to rest, run through Soho in your Gucci dress.” Tiny Dyno’s fetish for melodic pop and wall of sound production remains strong despite this being their first release without regular collaborator Robot Club (Massive Attack, Nick Cave, Tom Waits).

Mastered by Rik Dowding (Portishead, The Horrors, Primal Scream, The XX)Soho Bedroom Party’ offers a glimpse of exciting things to come with individual releases scheduled for 2021.

Haunting, lingering, and angelic vocals make avant-garde musician Fifi Rong the ideal candidate for electronic music collaborations of any kind. Though quite established in the public eye, the singer-songwriter has always remained passionate about the underground electronic scene in the UK. The singer has unveiled her latest music video for her single ‘Another Me’ and let’s just say it is a sight to behold.

Suggesting reference to Botecelli’s iconic painting The Birth Of Venus, the radiant goddess being Fifi Rong is tastefully nude whilst performing the vocals of ‘Another Me’ throughout the duration of the video. The singer is surrounded by a mesmerizing graphically enhanced ethereal landscape that compliments Rong’s delicate & feminine tone with this release.

The ‘Another Me’ video builds on the message of  not letting a bad break up ruin your sense of self-worth. Another important theme Fifi focuses on is staying in a toxic relationship in order to feel a sense of belonging. Fifi Rong provides an authentic sound and badass attitude with all of her releases, reminding the listener to live their lives as they please – unapologetically.

February 24, 2021 Pop music duo Beorma share mesmerizing song ‘Woman’

Pop music duo Beorma share mesmerizing song ‘Woman’

Beorma are Tom & Ferns, an indie pop/R&B duo based in Birmingham. Tom is Birmingham born & bred whilst Ferns is originally from Portugal. Both Tom & Ferns have been members of separate bands but they found musical love together during lockdown and began to collaborate sending ideas back and forth online, eventually coming up with the seven tracks that make up their debut EP ‘Virtual Emotionality’ which came out the end of January. Prior to the EP release they put out the singles ‘F U’ & ‘Right Behind You’ in 2020.

Now under the management of Indie Midlands Beorma are looking to push on with the release of new single ‘Woman’, a track that is purposely being released in time for International Women’s Day.

“Our music ranges from spoken word tracks resembling the early works of The Streets to the synth fuelled Indie Pop sounds of The 1975. Although our sound is quite often classed as Pop, we address very dark and morbid themes such as depression, self medication and stalking in our lyrics; often disguised and masked by the upbeat and vibey sounds of our tracks.” Beorma
