vaghy shares stunning video for ‘When The Night Falls’

Belgrade-based classical composer vaghy released his latest single ‘When The Night Falls’ on 11 October via Théque Records. The single features multi-disciplinary artist and vocalist Ohnody, with a phenomenal accompanying music video. This incredible collaboration was facilitated by the National Cultural Fund of Hungary.

Watch the music video for vaghy x Ohnody – ‘When The Night Falls’ below:

vaghy (Tamás Vághy) is a renowned classical pianist who has shifted lanes under the moniker vaghy from solely composing classical music, to using synths and vintage instruments to craft groundbreaking soundscapes.

Over the course of his career, vaghy has performed with classical music stalwart Lubomyr Melnyk, received support from the likes of Worldwide FM, as well as acclaimed publications Son Of Marketing and Recorder.hu.

Dori Hegyi, who goes by Ohnody, is also based in Budapest. Ohnody is her solo project where she merges visual art, poetry and her delicate vocals. Ohnody is a phenomenal artist who has over 1 million Spotify streams for her single ‘Hideg’, while she was also the first ambassador of the Spotify Equal Campaign in Hungary last year.

The music video is a visual feast, featuring a stunning solo performance by a dancer in a vacant home and outdoors, as the sun sets during twilight. The lighting is moody, low with calming yet brooding blue undertones, creating a foreboding ambience. The single itself is striking and overflowing with duality, profound emotion and intention. It was produced by vaghy as well as Ohnody, with mixing and mastering by Ferenc Stámusz of Stamusic.Studios Budapest.

Bence Szemerey from Odesa Films, who filmed the video shares: “The concept of the film is based on the music video’s title. Its dual nature inspired me to find the boundary that matches the line “when the night falls”—a special moment when light and dark coexist. The dancer performs inside a house with a small tree at its center, while simultaneously dancing in a forest with a tiny house in the middle. This duality is enhanced by shooting the entire music video during the “blue hour” – that magical time after sunset when the night falls”.

For those not familiar with your sound, how would you describe it?

This is a great question, I would describe my sound as Trap Dancehall from the London streets, but I’m also aware, I am a Friday night/ Monday morning artist meaning supporters will play my music on route to the club and in the club. Whilst Monday mornings my music will be used as coffee / motivation to work or the gym.

What was the inspiration behind collaborating with Sincerely Keane for this particular track?

The inspiration for collaborating with Sincerely Keane is I believe he is the next one truly, I cannot see ANY limitations with his music he is highly skilled, diverse and has all the characteristics of a great rapper. I cannot speak about him any more highly, I am excited for the world to see what I can see.

Where do you envision this track being played?

I can see the song being played in arenas due to how catchy and vibey the song is, it’s an anthem style song, so I can see it being played everywhere really.

Which three albums have influenced you the most creatively?

The three albums that have influenced me creatively are Missy Elliott Da Real World, NasI am and MavadoGangsta for Life

What has been your most memorable performance so far?

My most memorable performance would be from 333 an old grime rave to more recently A Perth show I was booked for at Hackney Wick.

Studio work and music creation, or performing and interacting with a live audience, which do you prefer?

Between music creation and interacting with a live audience, this is one of the most difficult questions ever because a live audience validates what you have been doing in the studio so I have to say both.

Tell us about any upcoming shows or releases you have in the pipeline.

Upcoming shows and releases are, I am working on my headline show so I am just building up the demand so the que goes around the building. In terms of releases I have an absolute monster with Yung Saber ready and loads more trap dancehall in my arsenal just watch and see I can show you better than I can tell you.

September 27, 2024 DROID BISHOP UNVEILS SYNTH-INFUSED REMIX OF I’MMORTAL’s ‘KILLED U IN A DREAM’

DROID BISHOP UNVEILS SYNTH-INFUSED REMIX OF I’MMORTAL’s ‘KILLED U IN A DREAM’

Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Droid Bishop unveiled a remarkable remix of I’MMORTAL’s hit single ‘Killed U In A Dream’ on September 6th 2024. Droid Bishop is widely known for his majestic synthwave 80s-inspired soundscapes, and his interpretation of the single has further solidified his position as a synth savant.

He has received support from the likes of EARMILK, Neon Nights and New Retro Wave, alongside an incredible 9 million Spotify streams.

I’MMORTAL is a creative extraordinaire, based between London and New York. She burst onto the scene last year with her debut single ‘Versace Spaceship’, and has received support from WONDERLAND Magazine, Metal Magazine and CLASH Magazine to name a few. While I’MMORTAL draws inspiration from pop icons like Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Bjork and Sophie, she has crafted a sound that’s entirely her own, and ‘Killed U In A Dream’ perfectly encapsulates it.

The original version of the single was produced by I’MMORTAL, and laid a hauntingly beautiful foundation for the remix. Droid Bishop’s remix holds the essence of I’MMORTAL’s dark, mystical, esoteric universe, featuring pulsating synths, a steady yet bold bassline, and evocative chord progressions transporting listeners to a dimension both eerie and fascinating.

Droid Bishop divulges: “I always love remixing and find it to be musically rewarding, especially when an original track like ‘Killed U In A Dream’ is so unique and creative with its dreamlike tempo changes and shifts in mood. This one pushed me to think a bit outside the box while still retaining a tangible groove to keep the listener moving.”
