R&B and Alt-Pop hitmaker Cimo Fränkel shared his latest single ‘Burning House (Live from Amsterdam)’ on the 16th of September via Cimo Fränkel / AWAL. The single is taken from the recently released deluxe edition of his debut album Cimo Fränkel via Cimo Fränkel / AWAL. A native of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Cimo is currently based in LA, USA. Cimo tells us that his earliest music education was from his father who was a funk musician who advised him through the DIY mentality of funk culture.

The vocals are incredibly beautiful and awe-inspiring like the sight of the earth from space. The highs and lows of Cimo voice are refined and rich. The melody sits on the threshold of edgy rock. However, it is not a rock ballad. The listener is invited into a world where effortless aspects of acoustic guitar strings merge simply with the vocals.

Cimo Fränkel tells us the motivation behind his embarking on working and releasing the new single, “I’ve always admired CAM as a singer, songwriter and artist. When I first heard ‘Burning House’ I fell in love with the melody and message of the song right away and was immediately inspired to make my own version of it”.

Multi-talented artist Russell Louder has shared their latest single ‘Come Around’ on the 16th of September under Lisbon Lux Records The Tiohtià:ke, Montreal, Canada-based, Russell Louder has many talents that include songwriting, producing, and performing.

Stream / Download: ‘Come Around’

The latest single is breathtakingly beautiful and memorable. The vocals are determined, sharp and robust like an anthem of soldiers going to war. The synthesis of the piano, the guitar, the vocals and the beat with striking elements of electronic produces a sound that is wonderfully progressive. The lyrics are about audacious conversations about blurring lines of accountability that are slightly dark but at the same time incredibly humorous. The artist’s lyrical mental vantage point is outstanding.

Russell Louder tells us eloquently the influences and paradigms surrounding the making of the single: “Come Around is a pop sharp-tongued symphonic play-by-play of a duplicitous figure in my life reeling me into their web of deceit. Instead of analyzing my experience, I used the writing of the song as a space for imagining what the other could have been thinking or strategizing”.

September 6, 2022 Cimo Fränkel displays intimacy in new deluxe album

The Cimo Fränkel (Deluxe) album gives the audience a new perspective of what Cimo Fränkel can do. Whether you’re in the mood for something calm and intimate or something more upbeat to get the blood flowing, this album caters for all.

Stream / Download: Cimo Fränkel (Deluxe)

We believe the reason for this is because he imbued intimacy into new versions of his tracks, including an acoustic version of his collaboration with world-renowned trance heavyweight, Armin Van Buuren on ‘All Comes Down’. Cimo tones down the club track to show the fans a softer side of him, turning this energy-filled dance track into an emotionally expressive ballad.

Cimo Fränkel gives admiration and recognition to Cam on a live cover of her glorious track ‘Burning House’. Again, Cimo reveals his vulnerability in this song, with a vocal tone that shows it has meaning to him.

Cimo Fränkel says on the project: “This album is special to me because it wasn’t written and produced in one place. I traveled the world during that time which makes it feel like an adventure. I had to open the album with a song I wrote and recorded with my father because he is one of the main reasons I am in music in the first place.”

September 2, 2022 Jerry Folk shares two troublesome songs

Twice the music, twice the trouble, twice the fun. Jerry Folk has released two hard-hitting singles on the same day, both of which have been released under the Folkestad Recordings label. First impressions are everything, and this blew ours away. My, oh, my, do we have a lot to discuss. Let’s delve deep and figure out what makes these records tick.

Stream on SpotifyiTunes

Let us begin with ‘sadsongwtf’. The single conveys a moody atmosphere reminiscent of an era of darker-sounding hip-hop. Minor keys evoke a melancholy that we find ourselves pleasantly lost in. It’s easy to think that XXXTentacion or juice WRLD would have heard the melodic 808 kick in and memorable snare pattern snap and immediately felt inspired to drop a hot 16.

‘All The Things’ is the complete opposite. Degenerating 8bit plucks carry that blissful videogame quality. We fixate on the stuttered synths, which pan across our field of hearing as if to notify us that Jerry Folk has levelled up. What a fun experience we had listening to these twin tracks.
