Synth-pop singer MØAA announces EP Euphoric Recall

Exploring dark memories embedded in nostalgia, MØAA’s dream-drenched, debut album “Euphoric Recall” pulls listeners through a brooding atmosphere with a thick driving rhythm to reach the dimly lit corners of the past.

MØAA was first conceived by Jancy Rae when she began writing and recording demos while living in the forest near Seattle, WA. Serving as an outlet to process a troubled past, MØAA was named after the MAO-A gene, also known as “The Warrior Gene,” for its connection to increased aggression and perseverance. More than halfway through writing the album, she moved across the world to Venice, Italy where in isolation and in collaboration with Andrea Volpato, completed the writing and recordings at Fox Studio Venice.

Euphoric Recall will be released Spring 2021 via WWNBB (We Were Never Being Boring).

Dream pop singer Julian Tran releases new song ‘Misery’

Julian Tran is  a 23 year-old songwriter from London. He was born and raised in Paris and came to London 6 years ago with the band he was playing in at the time (REV). After 3 years of playing concerts around London, he decided to focus on his solo projects.

From 2018 to 2019 he released several titles under his alias Sonic Eater and even started playing his own shows. From mid-2019 to now, he worked on developing the ‘Misery’ project

The project was delivered in 3 steps: First the ‘Misery’ single, then a Live Performance of the single shot in the 7th Sky Studios in Paris and finally, the ‘Misery’ Album. All this new material has been released under his real name as they no longer wish to use an alias.

January 21, 2021 Uncle Kid releases trip-hop commentary music video

Uncle Kid releases trip-hop commentary music video

Uncle kid released his debut single, ‘Supermarket Sweep’ on last November. Described as an “unsettling sound portrait” and “a song for our times” by Tom Robinson of BBC 6 Music.

It’s a trip hop, spoken word commentary on the anxiety of living through the covid pandemic, which delves into the friction between politics and nature. The song is built up around a gnarly bassline, glitchy electronic rhythms, and incorporates some radiator drumming (with pens for drumsticks).

Edinburgh based Uncle Kid, who produces all his own material, has teamed up with Scottish visual artist and inventor, Alan Brown, to create a suitably unsettling video. Filmed everyday during lockdown, the viewer’s gaze is held while he evolves from clean-shaven, to a heavily bearded, castaway version of himself. Brown’s glitchy, warhole-esque production adds to the general sense of unease.

Supermarket Sweep will be available on all major platforms, and is the first single from his upcoming EP, ‘Indistinct Chatter’ which features a combination of spoken word and singing throughout. Previously the guitarist in Scottish indie-folk band, The Last September, Uncle Kid merges folk guitar lines with dark synths and strings arrangements. Expect “dark, brooding, understated trip hop” Fresh on the Net.
