Indie rock band Catastrophe & Cure releases anticipated music video

Rock fans and indie rock fans alike, this new music video from award-winning band Catastrophe & Cure is sure to give you chills if you are a fan of the melancholic yet playful energy of 80’s band The Smiths. Catastrophe & Cure have crafted their sound around iconic acts in rock history, and their latest album Somewhere Down The Line features this indie-rock delight.

Previously featured on our blog for the single release, we mentioned our thoughts on the song, “Catastrophe & Cure’s sound on this track is reminiscent of some of your favorite 90’s indie-rock anthems, feeling so familiar I would not see why this single would not feature at a club or on your playlist. “

The band talk about the release, “’Another Wave’ was one of the first songs we recorded for our new album. It almost wrote itself. We had a couple of chords, the lead guitar and all of a sudden the song was finished. It’s a song about the ambivalence of love and about being at the mercy of one’s own emotions. “You’re my love / Yet my downfall / You’re my love / Still my pain”…. you get the idea!”

Catastrophe & Cure song ‘Another Wave’ is an ode to 90’s indie-rock

Indie band Catastrophe & Cure have shared their new single ‘Another Wave’ which features on their latest album Somewhere Down The Line. Their previous album release saw the band receive an Amadeus Austrian Music Award. Other noteworthy achievements of the band thus far include Indie Shuffle listing their track ‘On The Internet’ as one of the Best Indie Rock Songs of 2017. The band also currently sits just under 1 million streams on Spotify.

UK band Milo Gore share ‘Green Eyes’ video

Band Milo Gore has shared their music video for their single ‘Green Eyes’. The single is lifted off of their upcoming album title, How Do You Cope While Grieving For The Living? (August 2020). Milo Gore cites musical influence from acts like Girl in Red, Penelope Isles, The 1975, Bears Den and Idles.The band consists of university pals, including lead singer and founder Milo. ‘Green Eyes’ chronicles Milo’s previous heartbreak.

Milo Gore explains in further detail, “The ‘Green Eyes’ music video is about the rise and fall of Milo’s past relationship. The video depicts the story of how he and his girlfriend first met, and consequently, how they drifted apart. The two should have never ended up together – they both had issues with their mental health, issues that were clearly going unchecked. Perhaps that’s what initially brought them together? However, it was sadly the thing that also tore them apart.

The ‘Green Eyes’ video was performed by Grace Collett and Robi Schein Bogdanov. Robi is portraying lead singer Milo and his first meeting with his girlfriend until the bittersweet ending, where he ends up at the exact meeting spot alone but content, as the video ends with Robi smiling.

Walker’s Cay releases new song ‘Tell Me’

Carrying the torch from where melodic rock bands like Journey, Def Leppard, Styx and Heart left off, Toronto’s Walker’s Cay ushers those classic influences into the 21st Century with two new tracks. On April 10th, 2020, the four-man band featuring Gold and Platinum-status lead vocalist Gary LaBarr, guitarist Mike Swain, bassist Tim Morrissey, and drummer Dave Pistilli will release “Tell Me” and “Why Oh Why” (MTS Records.)

“These guys are right in my wheelhouse,” said Michael Stover of MTS. “Those classic tunes with the big vocals, powerful drums, screaming guitars…that’s what I grew up with. So, to be working with a talented band like Walker’s Cay makes total sense for us. They are taking the best parts of the past and bringing them forward in their own style. 2020 is going to be huge for Walker’s Cay!”

Walker’s Cay gets its name from an “out island” in the Bahamas. It was visited by Gary LaBarr, (a private pilot), and some friends back in the late 1990’s. Not only did this beautiful island stand out in Gary’s mind throughout his life, but the name of “Walker’s Cay” did as well. Gary LaBarr has gold and platinum record status for his work in various original band projects, working as a musician, producer, and arranger. Mike Swain is considered to be the “technical wizard” for the band, due to his 30-plus years as a licensed control technician at a nuclear power plant. Mike is also a professional recording engineer, specializing in the Pro-Tools recording platform. Tim Morrissey comes to Walker’s Cay with quite the resume as a professional bass player and recording artist. He is a “gear geek” in regards to his intense interest in achieving that “perfect” bass sound. With a rock/jazz style type of percussive education, David “Dave” Pistilli lays down the tasty “back-beat” that Walker’s Cay is known for.
