July 15, 2022 Creators eevee and cliffe capture a moment in intimate new collaboration

Creators eevee and cliffe capture a moment in intimate new collaboration

Secret Souls founder eevee has produced an introspective single with the help of New York local, cliffe. The song is a warm blanket of melodious melancholy, contrasting with their previously released track ‘so easy’. While both tracks deal with what it means to love, ‘villain’ adopts a different approach, addressing its vices rather than its virtues.

The song is minimal, but not sparse. Each sound is handpicked and essential, conveying powerful emotions. One such sound is the slightly detuned guitar that strums beneath a vintage filter. Gliding from chord to chord, eevee chose to keep the sound of fingers in motion; a choice that serves to bring intimacy to the record, bolstering its confessional tone.

It’s not often we are made privy to such vulnerability. eevee and cliffe have let us into their world, and that is a privilege. We appreciate their poetry and poise, a combination that makes for long-lasting art. ‘villain’ is simply outstanding.

This just in: The Burma have taken to the rooftop in their new music video for their latest single ‘Sleepers’, out via The Burma Music. Overlooking the city, the trio jam out amongst the clouds.

Stream/ Download: ‘Sleepers’

Complete with suits, ties, and red carpets, the video is a luxurious visual experience. Formal, yet casual, the band creates a fun scene, performing in smart outfits at an unusual venue. It is as if the band slipped away from a stuffy award ceremony to do what they love best: make good music. On top of the world, literally, The Burma performs their single, which tells of climbing out from the bottom.

Looking back at one’s mistakes, it is easy to see where things went wrong. But moving forward is far more challenging. One must enter the unknown, often while stumbling and falling. This is a central human experience, which The Burma encapsulates in ‘Sleepers’.  The video drives home the message that no matter your position, whether you are on the second or fourth floor, you can find your way up.

Indie-dance duo Phantoms share new single ‘Letting Me Go’ from forthcoming album “This Can’t Be Everything”.  Speaking of the new single, Phantoms say: “Letting Me Go” is the first song on our album coming in August. It was another one we wrote pretty early on in the album process and tried to incorporate a lot of the sounds we felt characterized the record. It’s still dance driven with synthesizers and punchy drums, but we also wanted it to feel euphoric and melancholy, like you could float away while listening to it.

Phantoms have come into their own and taken a new approach to their music following monumental personal and professional life changes and through those experiences have created some of their most dynamic and transcendent music to date. The two were officially signed to Foreign Family Collective earlier this year, (founded by electronic giant ODESZA in 2015) and since have had the freedom to explore new and exciting creative avenues with their music.

With previous support from NPR, Billboard, Stereogum, Earmilk + more and over 125 million streams across platforms, the duo has solidified themselves as one of the most promising acts entering 2022, with lots more on the horizon. Their recent string of singles including, ‘Lay It All on Me’ featuring UK based singer-songwriter Jem Cooke and ‘Firepit’ with electronic producer/composer, Big Wild, have received incredible support from playlisting across the globe as well as continued radio support worldwide including heavy rotation on BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, SiriusXM (Diplo’s Revolution & BPM) + KCRW, triple j and more.
