September 15, 2020 Pop singer Elvira shares 80’s infused song ‘Envious’

Pop singer Elvira shares 80’s infused song ‘Envious’

Merging her unforgettable Swedish pop sound with classic references to the 70s and 80s, ‘Envious’ is launching Elvira onto the pop scene. Envious is her first single off of an upcoming EP, coming next spring. Complete with beautiful chord patterns, harmonies, and a strong groove, Elvira’s sound is inspired by not only old, but new. Growing up, her family used to host dance parties every Friday where they would listen to old music like Earth, Wind & Fire or Chaka Khan and perform for each other. Mixing that with modern day influences, such as Charlie Puth, Meghan Trainor, and Tove Lo, Elvira’s sound is a blended masterpiece linking different eras together, and Envious is no different.

Envious is the first single on the project, but more singles are coming out during the fall. we can expect intimate love songs, beautiful visuals and get to know her better through her songwriting and socials. Envious also comes with a gorgeous music video, filmed entirely on an iPhone in her old apartment. With help from her friends, they planned, directed, recorded & edited the video in two days. The video will be out the same day as the single.

September 15, 2020 Art-pop duo We Will Kalied drop expressive song ‘Mogilalia’

Art-pop duo We Will Kalied drop expressive song ‘Mogilalia’

‘Mogilalia’ is about inability to speak your mind. It’s a look on the exertion of being filled with intense, but unexpressed anger. And the need to express it anyway to avoid imploding.” explains the band.

‘You don’t own me brother. I don’t owe you anything.’ as the lyrics go. “Mogilalia” is an uncomfortable slow burn with a weirdly liberating ending. Stumbling, energetic, introverted, explosive.

We Will Kaleid will play at this year’s Reeperbahn Festival. On Friday 18th, at Knust. If you happen to be around, feel free to come over.

The band’s new EP “Tongue” will be released in October.

September 11, 2020 Music producer Ka Fu releases anticipated song ‘The Hope Is Open’

Music producer Ka Fu releases anticipated song ‘The Hope Is Open’

It is official release day for global nomad and music producer Ka Fu, who has just dropped a new single, ‘The Hope Is Open’. This new offering adds to the anticipation of the music producer’s upcoming album Heretic (October 2020), his second album release to date.

Wave Music share, “‘The Hope Is Open’ feels like a light wave that is crashing over you at the same time, Ka Fu’s music is like dynamite waiting to explode.”

Ka Fu adds his thoughts, “This track is about the neverending path of finding your own home. Everyone was born somewhere and that is our physical home but still, our soul is always in search of the place to be connected with. My experience is that it’s all about my internal world and not the pictures around it. For instance, if I’m ready to open my heart to everyone I meet on my way, accepting people as they are without any fears, means that my home is open and it’s everywhere I go. I tried to compose the track as deeply as possible with big bass lines that then are overflowed with another bass elements – all to create the floating feeling of calmness and inspiration at the same time, like in my life – I’m always interested in what comes next.”

September 11, 2020 Soul duo Saul City announces new song ‘Amusement Park’

Soul duo Saul City announces new song ‘Amusement Park’

As Saul City celebrate 10 years of marriage and 12 years of their musical journey together. To celebrate, the couple releases their new track ‘Amusement Park’. In a world shaken by a pandemic and lockdown, the pair use their time to sympathise and express relatable emotion through music during these trying times.

Kicking off with singer/songwriter, Lauren writing and performing on the track ‘Disco Venture’, a collaboration with Los Angeles based artist Mr. Moustache and a piece Saul City listeners couldn’t stop moving to. But it was their feature on rising producer Jason Giger’s ‘Leaving and Losing’ that gave them their light bulb moment, leaving a welcomed dent in their musical steps forward, a dent that invited perspective. With features on blogs, a spot on Apple Music Africa and a number one position on Chapter One Radios Top 10. The duo who’d once refer to themselves as genreless have found a musical path, putting their twist on R&B and Nu Soul sounds. Guitarist Michele felt the deep and warm sounds of his wife’s voice would be a great branding strategy which lead to the birth of ‘Amusement Park’.

Michele sat playing the ever-present guitar riff adamant to have a repetitive sound that stuck, he introduced it to Lauren who already had the lyrics to ‘Amusement Park’.

Searching through her bank of voice notes, she found the melody for what would shape ‘Amusement Park’. The song designed to soothe yet move, and the lyrics are carefully written to relate and become an anthem.

“You could say it’s a song about love gone wrong, but there are people and situations in your life that are toxic whether or not exists in it. I want the chorus to be a singalong of confidence and sass to all those toxic people who think it’s okay to use you.” says the singer.

Saul City are excited to share ‘Amusement Park’, with an exciting project coming up, the genreless duo who seem to have found their path are still looking forward to straying and experimenting.
