Creamfields Brings Calvin Harris Back Out to Play

Calvin Harris has been taking a long break from the festival circuit, but the hiatus ends here with the announcement of his upcoming appearance at Creamfields 2019. His name shone amongst Fatboy Slim, FISHER, Jauz and many more names gracing the second phase of Creamfield’s lineup. Harris will perform as an exclusive act, sharing this status with Swedish House Mafia, deadmau5 and Tiësto, making Creamfields the only UK festival where one can see these artists for the year 2019.

In addition, the festival will host over 300 performances over a vast number of stages, making Creamfields goers really spoiled for choice. To avoid pulling your hair out while trying to decide where, what and whom you can’t survive missing, it’s probably best to print out a detailed list and keep a highlighter handy. Festival 101: Plan your support.

February 17, 2019 Chromatics share new single & video “Time Rider” – announce North American tour.

Chromatics share new single & video “Time Rider” – announce North American tour.

Chromatics, made up of Ruth Radelet, Johnny Jewel, Adam Miller & Nat Walker, share new single & video “Time Rider” & announce a North American tour.

In “Time Rider”, Chromatics employ the metaphor of a motorcycle as an inter-dimensional bridge between the future and the past. In this dream, the motorcyclist mirrors myths of the grim reaper as Ruth Radelet eerily asks “Can I take your hand? I want to ride with you into the storm.”

Chromatics announce their first public concerts in over 5 years. The last time Chromatics was on stage was for the filming of their Roadhouse appearances in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. This six week North American tour will be the first time the band performs live with vocalist Ruth Radelet in many of the cities. Onstage, the group will be playing their favorite moments from Night Drive, Kill For Love, Cherry, & Dear Tommy.

Montreal’s Desire will be performing in direct support of Chromatics. Front woman Megan Louise sings in French and English over Italo Disco laced Dream Pop. Their single “Under Your Spell” made a splash on the silver screen in Nicolas Winding Refn’s cult classic Drive alongside label mates Chromatics, Electric Youth, & Kavinsky.

From Vancouver, B.C., Italians Do It Better label mates In Mirrors open the nights with their hypnotic brand of Minimal Wave, Krautrock, and Post Punk.

Visually, the entire night features films directed by Johnny Jewel mixed live by video artist Danny Perez (Antibirth, Panda Bear). Bringing a cinematic experience to the concerts, the bands will be blurring the line between stage and screen. European tour dates are set to be announced soon.

February 12, 2019 Indie-pop trio Lex Audrey shares video for pulsating track, ‘Winter II’

Indie-pop trio Lex Audrey shares video for pulsating track, ‘Winter II’

Already one of the most promising artists in the scene, Austrian trio Lex Audrey has released the music video for their acclaimed single, ‘Winter II’. The song was released on the 1st of February while the video came out 4 days later on the 5th.

The Vienna-based trio consists of Niklas Pichler (vocals), Patrick Pillichshammer (drums and samples), and Lukas Staudinger (synth and bass). Each of them started playing instruments from a very young age as it allowed them to express themselves freely through the use of music. With Niklas on main songwriting duty, the group comes together to create a track around his creations as each idea comes to fruition. Having been part of the Austrian music scene for almost two years now, their debut album sees Lex Audrey ready to take on the global market as they rely more on electronic soundscapes instead of traditional instrumentation.

The Rupert Höller directed music video is quite simple in its nature, but manages to keep the viewers attention throughout the whole track. Cleverly using a wide array of lighting effects, the video sees the trio performing their track in a darkened room while masterfully choreographed lighting rigs move around them, transforming the ‘dull’ room into an exciting visual treat for the eyes.

Pre-order their debut album, No Intention of Changing the World, here.

Lex Audrey explains the theme of anti-superficiality in “Winter II”; “All they do is yell, and they‘re searching for attention without words, attention for hollow minds”.
