minus32heartbeat shares debut album DHRICMV

minus32heartbeat wears his heart on his sleeve with his debut album DHRICMV. The album was released on September 6th, via Big Leather Jacket Music.

Produced, written and recorded by Matt Friedlander (minus32heartbeat), the album has eight magical tracks that capture the bustling chaos of New York (where he lives), while offering a magnificent exploration of love and life. With a fresh blend of indie rock, electronic music and alt-pop, this album is a valiant and genuine reflection of minus32heartbeat’s artistic vision. Before going solo, he was a member of the band The GoSation, which garnered attention from notable outlets like NME and Spin in the mid-2000s.

Creating DHRICMV was profoundly personal for Matt, as he drew inspiration from his own lived experiences with love and the complexities of relationships. The journey began in 2023 during a challenging financial period. However, he was fuelled by the passion to create music, and took the leap to invest in equipment and follow his artistic instincts. Inspired by legends like The Velvet Underground and Oasis, he has crafted a distinctive soundscape marked by poignant songwriting and sublime compositions.

French artist Caloé returns with Le Voyageur album

French singer-songwriter Caloé has returned with a brand new enigmatic album Le Voyageur released on 13 September 2024. Le Voyageur follows her stand out debut album Saisons which was released in 2020.

Caloé crafts music that’s a stunning blend of jazz, classical and folk, swaddled by her serene vocals. This album showcases her growth and evolution as an artist, as she continues to challenge norms and take risks with her career. Her background in classical music as well as jazz has shaped her trademark sound, which is reflected in her music resonating with listeners all over the globe.

In Le Voyageur she sings in French, English and Spanish, while her incredibly talented trio Clément Simon (piano), Arthur Henn (double bass) and Philippe Maniez (drums), create a dynamic and exciting experience from beginning to end. Each song tells an enticing story of her imaginative world, which includes her imaginary protagonist ‘The Traveler’.

Caloé reveals, “I envisioned a character moving through a world that is at times welcoming and at others tumultuous, experiencing solitudes and loves that inspired the music’s creation.”

Raquel Kiaraa has unveiled a mesmersing music video for her powerful love ballad ‘Feel With Me’, on 14 September 2024. The video was released on her YouTube channel, and features the singer-songwriter adorned in colourful, beautifully crafted garments while singing her heart out in nature.

The track was released on 23 August, via Sono Rak Corp and follows the release of her hit single ‘Swim In Our Ocean’ , an eclectic pop-rock ballad that received support from tastemakers such as NOTION and Earmilk. The Canadian songstress creates music that’s captivating and deeply introspective. Raquel boasts over 2 million streams, and caught the eye of major music publications like Billboard, Rolling Stone and NOTION during her impactful career so far. Rotterdam’s most forward-thinking music festival returns this September for its tenth installment. Festival Downtown takes place from 20 – 21 September with its biggest edition to date. This year, the festival boasts headlining acts from The Netherlands, UK, Syria and Belgium as well as a stellar selection of supporting acts too.

Festival Downtown is known for its commitment to inclusivity, diversity and accessibility which is reflected in its values, lineup and motto; “Redefining Rotterdam / Reshaping The Narrative”. The festival is free during the day, however at night tickets are required.

It will take place at multiple indoor and outdoor locations throughout Rotterdam’s esteemed inner city, with 6 locations promising to astound attendees with some of the best electronic music acts in the world. The stages include WORM, Club Centraal, Cannibale Royale, Boomgaardsstraat, Eendrachtsplein and Westblaak Rotterdam/ Netherlands.

This year’s headliners include UK producer and DJ Samurai Breaks who was awarded DJ Mag’s Best Breakthrough Producer in 2021, Syrian superstar Omar Souleyman, Sherelle who was the recipient of DJ Mag’s Best British DJ in 2021, as well as DJ, producer and label owner RE:NI. The exceptionally talented supporting acts include Martha Da’Ro, Franky Sticks & Wantinga, Beraadgeslagen and many more. World-renowned artists including Kojey Radical, James BKS and Flowdan have performed at previous editions too.
