eevee and sweeep excite with the new song ‘the one’

Forward-thinking producers eevee and sweeep have returned to the studio to produce a pleasantly haunting record called ‘the one’.  The single is a sneak preview of their forthcoming collaborative album vandalism and selfcare, scheduled for release under eevee’s Secret Souls label.

Stream / Download ‘the one’

The single feels as if it represents a forgotten place, once loved but now lost, eroded by the sands of time. Like a flame in the wind, noises flicker, casting long shadows on the walls. Crickets chirp in the corners while spinning vinyl crackle calls to us, inviting us to explore the abandoned ruins of memory and melody.

The single is as much of a deconstruction as it is a production. Bits and pieces fall away, collapsing beneath our feet so that we plummet into a torrent of emotion that the two creators have unleashed.  But we swim through, arriving safely on sturdy shores where eevee and sweeep wait to warm us.

Dragonette describes ‘New Suit’ as a “power-pop pep-talk”, and a “mash-up of retro and contemporary sounds and imagery”, and the track serves as a much-anticipated first look at a forthcoming collection and Dragonette’s first full-length release since 2016’s Royal Blues. Also available is the stunning lyric visualiser for ‘New Suit’, a striking pop-art collage paying homage to stop-motion animation techniques.

August 18, 2022 Band Mellor gives us their all in ‘Gargoyle Groove’

Band Mellor gives us their all in ‘Gargoyle Groove’

Committing to raw power, UK band Mellor has shared their latest record ‘Gargoyle Groove’, which is a culmination of years spent listening to bands like Oasis and Arctic Monkeys. Released under Triple B Records, the single gives us a hint of what their forthcoming album, titled Problematic Passions, will sound like.

Stream / Download ‘Gargoyle Groove’

The record feels like pure expression. It is as if Mellor held back nothing while they delivered each note and lyric, which is probably true given the intensity of the track. There is nothing mild about it. No, each chorus is an undiluted thrust of distortion.

The band originates from Redding, UK, and was started during its members’ younger years. There is an element of their rebellious youth that has carried through, becoming a part of the band’s charisma. It’s as if we are watching a live performance from an old, beat-up coach in a garage plastered with peeling band posters and littered with crumpled beer cans. We’re happy to lounge around and listen while Mellor tweaks their amps and floors their pedals.

Mellor Tour Dates 2022:

20th October – 33 Oldham Street, Manchester

21st October – Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh

27th October – The Star, Guildford

3rd November – Sidney & Matilde, Sheffield

4th November – Old Blue Last, London

5th November – River Studios, Southampton

10th November – Dead Wax Digbeth, Birmingham

11th November –  Purple Turtle, Reading

August 10, 2022 Creative singer ena mori releases new LP

Creative singer ena mori releases new LP

Artist ena mori has released her brand new LP DON’T BLAME THE WILD ONE! which is 12 tracks long and takes you on a journey and encourages you to stand up for what you believe in.

Stream / Download: ‘DON’T BLAME THE WILD ONE!’

In the track ‘DBTWO!’ she portrays that something has this hold on her, trying to tell her what to do and how she should display herself in public. She wishes to be freed from this fake persona and just be herself. The song also shows her belief in the need to break away from this kind of influence. It is as if she bottled up these emotions until she exploded.

It is a song that you can relate to. We’ve all been made to feel that we cannot express ourselves because we might appear different. But what we really should be doing is what feels authentic and not care about what others think of us. The best thing we can do is just be our true selves.
