susan is an experimental electro pop artist , led by the unique musings of singer/ songwriter/producer Susan Reby. susan explores the overpowering feelings of growing up different, documenting their utopian getaway. The melancholic lyrical woes are transformed into an archive of hope and surreal daydreaming. Sinister electronica loops and guitar riffs encapsulating poetic singing, kaleidoscopic dissonant noises and abstract vocal melodies.

Taking influence from artists like: Pulp, FKA Twigs and Lorde, susan hopes to create a sound that is undeniably dark pop, with a hard hitting message. After their debut tour in 2018, playing latitude festival and their “tour vlog” reaching 300,000 views. susan continued to release music into 2019.

In 2019, susan was on the road again, touring around the UK. Previewing their new material whilst also performing some sounds from their first EP acne. Following this, in March, susan played their sold out headline show at ‘504 Arch – Brixton’. Selling out of merchandise and debuting new content. Last summer, susan appeared at Brighton and Nottingham Pride, and also debuted an atmospheric set at 2000Trees festival. Susan’s next project, a self produced mixtape titled Spit on it, was released in October 2019. Susan continued the message of expression and self identification and writes about the struggles of finding oneself whilst feeling content in a world that is truly uncomfortable. Combining their natural electronic background with indie singer/ songwriter/producer, ‘James Casperrsusan aimed for a more emotional commercial sound. The single to the mixtape titled ‘Immune’, mastered by Rob Baldock (Little Mix, One Direction), was released with a visual. This project being focused around the meaning of the track: Looking into the feelings of bitterness after a first encounter with somebody. works with dark lighting and visual effects that aims to encapsulate the audience and push the meaning behind the lyrics. susan was also cast as a main character in Johnny Marr’s video for ‘Armatopia’, which was premiered on Noisey. and recently walked the runway for the second time at ‘London Men’s Fashion Week’, where they walked for ‘Art School’, which was covered by Vogue, Wonderland, Dazed and The Face. To finish the year with a high, susan debuted two shows in London and Nottingham throughout December to thank people who have followed them throughout 2019.

Heading into 2020, susan will be releasing a further mixtape titled “Suepreme” which will be released monthly throughout the year. Each will be supported by a visual created by an array of different visual artists and videographers. The aim for this project is to move much more commercially and continue releasing content to their audience.

August 21, 2020 Band TV PEOPLE announce new music

Band TV PEOPLE announce new music

Rising Dublin quartet TV PEOPLE return on 4th September with their third single of 2020, ‘Nothing More’ and its accompanying video directed by Robert Clarke.

Mixed and recorded at Darklands Audio with Dan Doherty (Fontaines D.C., Vulpynes) and mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Christian Wright (Radiohead, Blur, LCD Soundsystem), ‘Nothing More’ sees the band come to terms with identity and the struggle of finding a purpose in life.

Speaking about the single, the band explain: “It reflects on the superficial challenges of finding yourself that you face in adolescence and early adulthood, and contrasts these with a deeper existential anxiety that emerges in their place as you begin to overcome them.”

“The song documents the experience of trying to make peace with the realisation that life may be inherently meaningless and deal with the burden of being responsible for your own life’s purpose. It was written remotely during the lockdown period by sending each other music and mixing a home demo which was a new way of writing for us.”

‘Nothing More’ follows the release of singles ‘Kitchen Sinking’ and ‘Time Eats Up’ earlier in 2020, with ‘Kitchen Sinking’ earning a spot on Spotify’s ‘An Alternative Éire’ playlist, and ‘Time Eats Up’ receiving heavy promotion from the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

Hailing from the heart of Ireland’s capital, TV People are a Dublin four-piece who lace their indie/garage rock sound with punk-infused undertones. Despite forming in early 2019, the band have been honing their craft across the live scene, making themselves one of the most exciting bands coming out of Dublin right now.

First toying with the idea of creating the band, Paul, Brendan and Len later recruited Rob to perfect the group’s dynamic. Since, TV People have worked with Dan Doherty (Darklands Audio) and Christian Wright (Abbey Road Studios) on their latest releases and also garnered support from the likes of Abbey Road Studios, The Daily Star, Earmilk, When The Horn Blows, Amazing Radio, RTÉ and 98FM, and more.

The concert will take place on the 17th of September to celebrate their forthcoming album release Concorde. Currently sitting over 10.9 million streams across multiple music streaming platforms, no wonder they have won the GAMIQ prize for the ‘Best Electronic EP of the Year’, their previous album release was also one of the 40 Canadian albums to selected to feature on the Polaris Music Long List.

The new album is inspired by the rise and fall of the historic Concorde event. The band is rooted in 70’s influence, from psychedelia, disco, yéyé and French chanson. I am sure that Le Couleur’s new album will easily be mistaken for a masterpiece that was created in the 70’s period.

August 19, 2020 Alternative musician Harmer Jays releases song ‘Double Vision’

Alternative musician Harmer Jays releases song ‘Double Vision’

Double Vision pinpoints the emotions felt through relationship dependencies, juxtaposed with a somber yet upbeat arrangement. The track conjures up the atmosphere felt when experiencing a temporary escape from reality, followed by the realisation that you don’t have that all-important ‘other’ to depend on. With lyrical complexity reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, somber vocal styling and vibrato comparable to that of Jeff Buckley and James Blake, Double Vision expresses emotional loss with a longing vision for a better future.

By combining heartfelt lyrical delivery with modern musical digressions, Harmer creates a sometimes surprising, yet completely effective and relatable resonance. In true Harmer Jays style, this is all done with a hauntingly beautiful topline, engineered and produced alongside long-time friend and producer, Taran Stormes Martino.

Harmer Jay’s personality resonates through his music, quirky social media presence, and poignant, eerie live performances. His music is subconsciously conceptualised and organically untied to genre labels and his energy and presence are as infectious as his 90s mismatched fashion is endearing.

Following the release of ‘Double Vision’ Harmer Jays will be completing his debut EP in September with the release of ‘Smile (To Decorum)’. Harmer is armed with a brand new live set and looks forward to debuting it on a series of tour dates (yet to be announced) for 2021.
