Every song contains engaging lyrics, rich in constructive lessons and filled with skilful songwriting.

The Burma reflects on the sound that distinguishes Sucker For Stars: “The album represents two different sounds for us – the first, made up of 6 older songs which we’ve held onto over the years- and then 5 brand new songs showing where our writing style is at in its current form. Nostalgic for days spent in high school blasting anthemic emo music through your headphones as you walk down the hallway to your next class? We feel the same way too, and wish we could go back to those carefree days when you didn’t have to worry about making ends meet. Giant Sky’s latest album Not Today via Bloody Sunset Records is an instant nostalgia train, reminding the listener of their days spent being a carefree adolescent.

Stream/Download: Not Today album

Previously featured on iGuitar and on RCRD LBL with song ‘Snow’, we mentioned: “Lyrics like “The world goes crazy, but you and I remain the same/ There’s no way that I can go into the void of my own” spreads a message of light & connection in times of darkness. One can easily fold and let physical isolation rob you of your sanity and happiness. Giant Sky’s ‘Snow’ reminds one that no true connection is ever lost if it is real.”

Download on iTunes: Not Today album

Listening to this entire album one will be two tissues away from destroying a packed box for sure. This album covers feelings of isolation, acceptance and finding a home to call your own. A lot of heart is poured into this work and its energetic production is evident in each track and essentially is what a memorable indie-rock hit consists of. Let your hair down and shake along to the beat of Giant Sky – A band with character and worth the listen in a time of much chaos.

Cadet Carter, a band known for their indie-rock stylings that keep fans intrigued, have released the music video for their latest single, ‘The Best Part’. Both the single and the video were released today via 8 Ohm Records. The video was directed by Bastian Scholl, who uses the chance to explore childhood memories and nostalgia.

“I am so happy Cadet Carter has asked me to work with them on their new video. The song is probably the most optimistic thing that came out this year and I wanted to give the video a melancholic but still positive spin. I can not wait for everybody to listen to the song and watch the video!”Bastian Scholl tells us about the joys of working on the video.

Stream/ Download: ‘The Best Part’

The band have been compared to the likes of Blink 182, Knuckle Puck and Biffy Clyro and the comparisons stand true, as the soaring guitar riffs and spirited vocals take centre stage. The final impression of childhood play times resulting in long-lasting is the positive reinforcement we were needing to end the year on.

November 4, 2020 Listen to ‘The Best Part’ of the year with Cadet Carter’s latest song

Listen to ‘The Best Part’ of the year with Cadet Carter’s latest song

Pause and consider “The Best Part” of the year with Cadet Carter and their newly premiered single. Due for release on the 13th of November via 8 Ohm Records, ‘The Best Part’ displays the indie-rock quartet’s talent for looking on the bright side of life.

Speaking of the single, Cadet Carter tells us: “The world is full of pessimists, especially since the start of the pandemic. And I’ll admit, I‘m a pessimist myself pretty much most of the time. But right now, nobody seems to keep the light on at the end of the tunnel, no one seems to be willing to fly the flag of optimism. So we decided to write a song about not losing hope and staying positive, just for a change. That is how ‘The Best Part’ came about.”

A step away from songs such as ‘King Of Pain’ and ‘A Bad Few Weeks’, we’re pretty happy with the positive direction the band is going in and we believe the rest of the world will be too? Tell your local radio stations about them today to make sure everyone gets a bit of sunshine in their life.
