Polina shares video for ‘FAENA’

October 14, 2021 (Los Angeles, CA) – Global pop artist and songwriter POLINA released her international smash “Faena” this past August to much acclaim. The track, written by POLINA and produced by ORGAN was inspired by the South Beach Faena Hotel and features sexy vocals, breezy production, and a seductive chorus that you’ll be chilling out to all through the fall. Showcasing the many different vibes of POLINA, the video was shot at the Faena and captures the magic of the space, and the inspiration for the track perfectly. This is an absolute must watch.

Said POLINA of filming the video for ‘FAENA‘, “It was so special to shoot the video at the place that inspired me to write the song. The video follows me as I’m totally alone in the hotel, having a party for one, while Faena’s vibrant locations bring out different characters in me. I had the best creative team around me and there’s quite a bit of choreography involved. Produced by Hoodyakov Productions it’s the first video I-co directed too. So much love and work went into it, now I’m super excited to share it with the world! Enjoy.”

POLINA is a Russian-born artist and songwriter living in Los Angeles. Born in Moscow into an artistic family (her mom is Russian 90’s pop singer ANKA, father is abstract painter Ruslan Gudiev) it was inevitable that Polina would find her way into an artistic medium, and songwriting became her passion. As a songwriter and vocalist, the musician’s credits include: “Legacy” from Eminem’s Grammy-winning album The Marshall Mathers LP (songwriter, guest vocalist), Sean Kingston’s Top 10 UK hit “Party All Night (Sleep All Day)” (co-writer) featured in the movie “The Inbetweeners,” as well as writing credits for global pop stars (Katy Perry, Rihanna) and vocal features on singles for EDM icons (Tiesto, Steve Aoki, Kaskade).

POLINA made a statement on the release of single, “Book of Love,” the chart-topping collaboration with Felix Jaehn (certified Gold in Germany, #1 on the Airplay Chart 4 consecutive weeks), following the breakout success of her song “Fade to Love” (certified Gold in Italy). Her music has taken her around the world, and performing is a passion for the artist who has frequented the stages of some of the world’s biggest festivals (Ultra, Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo) as a special guest artist on Felix Jaehn’s Bonfire Tour, and Steve Aoki’s Wonderland Tour.

Stay tuned for more to come from POLINA.

October 18, 2021 Rising avant-pop duo ÄTNA share delightfully weird music video

Rising avant-pop duo ÄTNA share delightfully weird music video

Rising German avant-pop duo ÄTNA are poised to announce a brand new release with the arrival of ‘Smile‘ this October through Humming Records.

Following on from their recent acclaimed collaborations on Solomun’s ‘Tuk Tuk’, championed by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 and ‘Weirdo’ with 11-piece techno marching band Meute, ‘Smile’ is a scintillatingly bizarre and sumptuous track moulded in ÄTNA’s fresh inimitable style.

The accompanying video clip is visually striking, minimalist statement. They say: “In the music video for ‘Smile’, we go new ways this time and escape to a place between dream and disturbance, where a fleeting smile distorts space and time. Echoes from the future become déjà vu. Hypnotic and intangible. Unsurprisingly, our new song comes as a surprise; dry yet dubby, ballad-esque yet beat driven – a strive for acceptance of dark passengers who will always be a part of the whole.”

ÄTNA are creating groundbreaking avant-garde pop from scratch, hitting a career milestone of over 1 million Spotify listeners a month, with over 40 million Spotify streams across their catalogue and NMF features in Germany, Switzerland, UK, Mexico, Türkiye, CZ, Greece, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.

They create a completely unique sound that is free of any stylistic conventions. Their style is indefinable, their stage presence immense, their creativity boundless: ÄTNA have achieved what many consider impossible in these times. From the underground to one of the most sought-after live acts in Europe and, at the same time, one of the most innovative new electronic music projects. The mission statement was as steep as it was hard for the duo, and yet, at least since their impressive debut “Made By Desire” (2020), Inéz and Demian know only one direction: up.

October 15, 2021 ANIQO shares chilling new video for ‘Fear’

ANIQO shares chilling new video for ‘Fear’

Psychedelic songstress ANIQO has released a video to accompany her new track ‘Fear.’ Directed by Matthias Pfeiffer (aka Pupillendriller) and produced by Guy Sternberg (Keane, Feist, Yoko Ono, Kings of Convenience) the video is a haunting visual translation of a potent track.

Stream/ download: ‘Fear’

On ‘Fear’ ANIQO speaks of the control measures implemented by media, government, and religion, using masks and dimly-lit scenes as a literal translation. The evocative visuals are well suited to the atmosphere of the track, leaving the viewer with a strong message.

Speaking of the concept behind the video, ANIQO tells us: “The video symbolizes confrontations with various fears… Matthias and I have a similar perspective on the world, also in aesthetic terms.  To visualize the feeling of a song is not easy but we managed to do that here.  Fear has many faces and I became even more aware of that during the shoot.”

September 29, 2021 Electropop duo Let’s Eat Grandma share new song in the last three years

Electropop duo Let’s Eat Grandma share new song in the last three years

Let’s Eat Grandma, the duo composed of songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and vocalists Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth, are today excited to share their first single in three years.

Hall Of Mirrors”, out now via Transgressive, is an ethereal, glistening pop song about a beautiful, intense moment remembered, and a welcome return for the acclaimed Norwich pair. The track comes with a hazy, dreamlike video directed by El Hardwick.

Rosa Walton said the following about the song and video: “I wanted to use the setting of a fairground at night to describe the dizziness, intensity and excitement of being with a woman I had strong feelings for, and the hall of mirrors as a metaphor for discovering and exploring parts of myself that I was bringing to life. In some ways it’s reflective and almost secretive, journeying through confusing and difficult emotions, but I also wanted Hall of Mirrors to be a euphoric song that conveys clarity, confidence, and ultimately joy.”

The single received its first radio plays last night on Jack Saunders’ BBC Radio 1 show as his Power Play and this morning on Lauren Laverne’s BBC Radio 6 Music show as her While You Were Sleeping track. Stream / watch Hall Of Mirrors” below. News of more music from Let’s Eat Grandma is to come.
