Music trio cheerbleederz releases new song ‘Sometimes I Cry At Work’

London indie-punk trio cheerbleederz are pleased to reveal a video for their new single ‘sometimes I cry at work’ released 30th April 2020—the track is the latest to be taken from their second EP lobotomy, which is out now on Alcopop! Records.

Both a fan and band favourite, ‘sometimes I cry at work’ was a surprise sleeper hit from the new EP on streaming platforms. Landing cheerbleederz a cover shot on Spotify’s Hot New Bands playlist and a spot on The Rock List, plus key radio support from John Kennedy (Radio X) and Tom Robinson (BBC 6music), the new record clearly resonated on an even broader scale with listeners.

The track is accompanied by a super-fun, emotional rollercoaster of a video, which was filmed and directed by the band in self-isolation, and was edited by drummer Phoebe Cross and long-time collaborator Rich Mandell.

May 6, 2020 Singer Dagny releases new song and music video ‘Somebody’

Singer Dagny releases new song and music video ‘Somebody’

Norwegian cult pop icon Dagny has released the new single ‘Somebody’ along with a music video – the second track to be lifted from her upcoming debut album. Today Dagny is also announcing that her long-awaited debut will be split into two parts, with the first 6 tracks Side A available for streaming on May 22nd, and the full album to arrive in September later this year.

New single ‘Somebody’ sparks into life with a dance-floor ready rhythm section, before bubbling synths, open up to provide a lush backdrop to Dagny’s unmistakable vocals.

The song was written with a goal of conveying the ultimate “in-love” experience, Dagny went on to say: “It’s the all-consuming and exciting feeling when everything is still new. I’ve been lucky to experience it. I find that when I’m in love I feel everything ten times more than usual. With ‘Somebody’ for me, it’s not just the lyrics but the whole vibe of the song that represents that: when I listen to it I get a lot of positive energy and I just wanna throw myself into something new and exciting.”

Both new single ‘Somebody’ and the previously released ‘Come Over’ truly epitomises Dagny’s singular sound, style, and spirit. “Now – more than ever – I am able to be personal in my music. I want to tell stories that mean something to me, but also stories that others can relate to,” Dagny said.

Once again, Dagny worked with directing duo TUSK on the video for ‘Somebody’. Comprising Kerry Furrh & Olivia Mitchell, the pair have recently worked on Camilla Cabello’s single release campaign and live show visuals, as well as creating work for artists including Halsey, Olly Murs, Olivia O’Brien, Nicki Minaj and many others.

April 30, 2020 Music producer Claptone reveals new song ‘Claptone In The Circus’

Music producer Claptone reveals new song ‘Claptone In The Circus’

Welcome to CLAPTONE in The Circus, a series of DJ sets, live and direct from a small circus in need of support during these challenging times – Claptone’s latest residency, so to speak. Twelve weeks in a row, we will dance together, to specially-themed mixes, and at the same time support a kind circus family and their happy, loving animals. During this new Claptone venture we’ll be introduced to more than 40 exclusive and unreleased Claptone originals, remixes and edits.

To make it even more spellbinding, in each episode, CLAPTONE’s DJ Set will be accompanied by the dazzling performance artists that inhabit the grounds of the circus. They will, at safe distances, of course, enact the most thrilling of performances, to complement the dreamy melodies and funky rhythms. Exciting jugglers, daring knife-throwers, a regal pony show and much more, await you every Wednesday, starting on April 22nd.

“In these trying times, I’ve often found myself going on long, isolated walks to appreciate the beauty of nature. It was on one of these scenic, afternoon journeys that I first stumbled upon a tiny family-run circus. The circus director told me about their struggle to pay the rent and buy food for the animals since the pandemic hit, as they couldn’t put on public shows.

The following day, I returned, this time, with fresh carrots in hand, hoping to be able to meet and feed the animals. It was then and there that I decided not simply to donate food and money, but to play specially themed and carefully selected sets at this little circus, involving parts of their show, to bring joy to my friends and fans in sound and vision.” says CLAPTONE.

April 29, 2020 Psych Rock band Ocean Alley announces new album

Psych Rock band Ocean Alley announces new album

Australia’s funkiest musical export Ocean Alley is thrilled to announce their highly anticipated third album Lonely Diamond, out independently June 19th, with distribution via UNIFIED Music Group. The news follows the premiere of their latest single from the record, ‘Hot Chicken’, on triple j this morning, and comes off the back of the recent postponement of their Australian tour until 2021.

Grappling with spiralling out of control, ‘Hot Chicken’ encapsulates the seduction and suffering that comes from wrestling with the devil on one’s shoulder. Accentuated by the dangerous edge to vocalist Baden Donegal’s voice, “I’ll be the razor if you want to play”, the taunting driving guitars intensify the feeling to fight. Threaded with echoes of an Ennio Morricone Spaghetti Western score, the song’s expansive soundscape grows and conquers, transporting the listener to the middle of a dusty stand-off in a state of isolation and emptiness.

Drawing from the nostalgia of music eras past, Lonely Diamond combines 70s guitar rock, country and western, old school funk and synth-heavy new wave to create a deeply contemplative and atmospheric odyssey reminiscent of music legends including Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd.
