R&B singer, songwriter and visual artist Sedric Perry returns with his new single  ‘FTS (Feel The Same)’, the second instalment from his upcoming debut EP The Golden Ratio

Delving into a more rhythmic and modern flow, there’s a double meaning behind the title of this tune. “FTS” (Feel the Same) explores the rabbit hole of toxic relationships and understanding when to call it quits, even though the love is still there. “I’m a complex, emotional person.  We have to grow and allow each other the freedom to do the same,” Sedric says when asked about the inspiration for the track. “No one person has all the answers on how you should live your life, and even if I met them, they’d probably bore me. I’m okay with figuring it out. No matter how much time and love we invest in people or places, sometimes you have to say “FTS” (fuck that shit), give yourself persmission to move forward, and fall in love with yourself so hard that even losing everything can’t break you. There’s no compromise in that – only more love, more light, more growth, more peace. I want that.”

As a creative, breaking barriers have been at the forefront of Sedric Perry’s artistic expression. He is driven to create a more accepting and inclusive world. His art reflects the love he has for his community, and his previous single “CMB” (Count My Blessings) is no different. Just one week after experiencing a hate crime in Senegal, Sedric removed his bandages and filmed the music video for CMB with the support of his tribe in Dakar. He decided to shift the narrative of the victim, back to one of strength and perseverance. “No matter what, it is my goal to push the conversation forward”. Now, he gets even more personal as he explores the struggles of queer love in “FTS”. He also makes his debut as a director in the upcoming music video.

You may recognize him from the critically acclaimed cult duo FHAT music. The brash queer duo made waves in Berlin, and turned heads among queer icons like Ru Paul and could be seen on HBO’s “We’re Here”. Last year his main projects (FHAT, Yuphoric, Sedric Perry) collectively received 6 million streams independently. His work can be seen on Billboard, Complex, and Gay Times Magazine. This year, he received a BMVA for his latest music video collaboration “Unbreakable Habits”. In spite of any setbacks which he reveals in the EP, he shows no signs of slowing down. Fans of Brent Fiyaz and 90s R&B will appreciate this mellow, yet energetic bop.

Mellor’s ‘Meet me by the Ocean’ discharges formidable confidence as heard in the powerful vocals that are enduring in their transmission of the emotions behind the lyrics and consistently illicit anticipation in listeners about the subsequent vocal cords. The words that come to mind regarding the vocalisation are robust, commanding and mighty among many which are carefully and perfectly woven into the musical notes of the song.

Mellor discusses the theme of the single with these words: “MMBTO is a tragic love story. It’s about a suicide pact, a couple who end their lives together peacefully before the world consumes them. In a world of war and global warming, it’s a sobering fantasy of walking into the ocean together, side by side. It’s a track that doesn’t quite follow our usual formula. It came together organically, stemming from Kris’s (lead guitar) pedalling riff and the ambient guitar line/vocal combination”.

Authentic Indie-Folk singer-songwriter Land Of Trees released his brand new singleSee The Fire Dancing’ via Land Of Trees Music on the 21st of October. The eclectic musician’s love of nature is one of the principal catalysts for his musical creativity, resulting in music that is permeated with anecdotes of life outdoors and a curious hommage to the environment.

Stream / Download: Land Of Trees – ‘See The Fire Dancing’

The lyricism in the single is a gentle consolation that speaks directly to the often hidden places in our hearts, promoting freedom and self-acceptance. Words in the song such as the following: “finding comfort in your smile” and “thankful for these days” are those that every human being needs to hear every day because they remind us that we are not alone in the world and that there is goodness in the world, one has just to be awake to and aware of the small good times.

Land Of Trees relays the moment ‘See The Fire Dancing’ was composed: “I wrote it on my banjo, which was peculiar enough to begin with, but when I played it to the band they were all mesmerised in their own way. It was an easy choice as our first single release for the upcoming album and I’ve never seen the band more intrigued to record a song”.

German alternative/dark-pop quartet Letters Sent Home have released their mighty new single ‘Fire’, taken from their upcoming new EP, Fire In Me, released 2nd December via new label home of Hassle Records.

Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgGw5f_iUDU

Pre-order Fire In Me here: https://hasslerecords.ffm.to/lsh_fire-in-me

celebration of the news, Letters Sent Home has also announced its debut UK live performance: the group will be supporting alt-rockers Blackout Problems at London’s Black Heart on 16th November.

The band comment: ““Fire” is a perfect introduction into that new mindset as it portrays a world full of hatred which can only be saved through love – the love we feel and especially give. “The fire in me is burning me to the ground”, meaning only love will be the end of me. I will not die with hatred in my heart.”

Fire In Me will be available as a limited vinyl release of 200 copies, pressed on crystal clear vinyl and handnumbered and signed by the band. Available exclusively from the Hassle Records store, the physical EP features new versions of Letters Sent Home‘s hit ‘Misery Loves Company, including a stripped-back version.

Letters Sent Home was formed in 2017 in Wolfsburg, based on the close bonds of friendship of Emily, Lara and Robin, quickly finding a fourth member in drummer Louis. The band began their journey fully in 2020 with their first single ‘Mosaic Mirror’ – and the process that the band have lived through can be described as a rollercoaster, full of highs and lows.

Driven by courageous ambition, Letters Sent Home came closer to their goals with their first, self-titled EP in late 2020, which served as the foundation for an incredibly successful 2021.

The group’s second EP, Misery Loves Company, offered a greater expansion of sound, but also two top-class guest features, underlining the band’s increasing heft. Besides Being As An Ocean‘s Joel Quartuccio, Letters Sent Home also teamed up with Halflives singer Linda Battilani. Both post-hardcore-infused alternative rock songs, they sit alongside the band’s synth-laden dark-pop influences, showcasing a fine modern pop-rock sound.

The Misery Loves Company EP led to national attention across key alternative media outlets and an ever-growing fanbase, as well as Hassle Records, their new label home for the third EP Fire In Me. A stunning listen, it’s a fine demonstration of Letters Sent Home‘s non-conforming rock sound and its strong lyrical identity.

Thematically the band touch on the topic of mental health, and vocalist Emily’s personal experiences. The band raise awareness on these themes not just through their music but with initiatives such as their Helpless But Hopeful Festivals and accompanying podcast.

Having now signed with established London-based independent label Hassle Records, Letters Sent Home look set to establish themselves as one of the most promising acts to watch out for over the coming year – new EP Fire In Me coming December 2022, with the quartet already working on crafting their debut album.

Letters Sent Home are:

Emily Paschke (Vocals)

Robin Werner (Guitar, Keys)

Louis Schramm (Drums)

Lara Ripke (Bass, Backing Vocals)
