Singer-Songwriter, Francine Belle, released powerful new single with colourful video, ‘Beautiful Heights’

UK based singer-songwriter and innovate artist, Francine Belle, released her debut single along with a music video for her brand new track, ‘Beautiful Heights’ released via Golden Ratio Records. Of the latest release, tastemaker publication FGUK said “The new track has a unique distinct feelgood factor that is only elevated by her candy pink backdrops and flower fields.”

A true appreciator of progressive and dynamic pop, Francine Belle cites Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, Florence & The Machine, SZA and Michael Jackson as part of her influences. In ‘Beautiful Heights’, Francine Belle displays not only her exceptional vocal talents, but her thoughtful lyric-writing too; the lyrics, “Lucky lovers we’re riding on the sky above us / We’re shedding all our earthly anchors / The only way is up,” are poignant and uplifting and mirror the mood of the song’s layered vocals that flawlessly fall over one another. Her sound incorporates strong and soaring vocal melodies comparable to the work of soulful pop icon Solange Knowles, combined with a quirky aesthetic and sound similar to Sia. Francine Belle is the musician writing pop music that transcends the everyday optimism of pop songs that have come before it; instead, she transforms pop into high art using intelligent song design, beautifully executed vocal lines and exciting rhythms.

Francine Belle’s ‘Beautiful Heights’ sees Belle deliver a powerful vocal performance only complimented by her dazzling music video and stunning wardrobe changes. As far as debuts go, this is strong, making us very excited to see what the future holds for this up and coming superstar!

Portland synth-pop duo Small Million release ‘Young Fools’ EP and reveal moody music video

Small Million is a Portland-based synth pop duo writing richly textured songs with impassioned lyrics and dark melodic hooks. LA-transplant Ryan Linder was new to Portland and seeking a musical collaborator, but struck out in the wilds of Craigslist. A chance meeting at a dance club with Portland native Malachi Graham, a songwriter and vocalist, led to the formation of Small Million.

On their follow-up, Young Fools EP, their collaboration has evolved to be all the more fluid and seamless, with many of the tracks written at weekend retreats to the wild and grey Oregon coast. Like the dramatic Pacific seascapes framed in the window of the cozy beach house where these songs were written, both the sonic textures and lyrics on Young Fools EP play the epic off the intimate.

Gabriel Ralls now makes music as Koto Kill which is a project that focuses on collaborations between musicians from different bands as whilst simultaneously blending industrial rock and dance in keeping with the unique essence of Plastiques’ sound. The London-based producer is influenced by artists such as Massive Attack, St Vincent, Goldfrapp, Michael Jackson, Garbage, Deftones, Autechre, Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, Ralls uses his musical knowledge and musical history to capture a nineties coolness on “Riot at 45.”

Speaking of the single Koto Kill producer says “Riot at 45 is about a heist-turned-party at a record store. It was inspired by The Prodigy, but after collaborating with Mo Stellato on the guitars, we also ended up taking certain Tool influences for good measure. We wanted something that evoked a 90s Marilyn Manson sexy coolness.”Watch the ‘Riot at 45’ video here
