Following Seeking Thrills recent nomination for the Hyundai Mercury Music Prize, Georgia is pleased to announce the release of a special new version of her track “Feel It”, reworked by Toddla T and featuring additional vocals from the multi-talented Atlanta-based rapper Yung Baby Tate.

The original track was written with the intention to inspire a new generation of musicians to get up and play, something which has been magnified with the new energy from Toddla T and Yung Baby Tate.

Georgia says of ‘Feel It’:

“It was wicked that Yung Baby Tate was up for putting her flavour on “Feel It”. She took it to the next level!”

Georgia will be performing live as part of BBC4’s special Hyundai Mercury Prize television coverage on Wednesday 23rd September. The winner will be announced the following Thursday 24th September on BBC One’s The One Show.

Georgia will be heading back out on the road in 2021 with a string of live dates across the UK and Europe.

Singer-songwriter Margot has shared her new single ‘Slow Down’ and it is sure to make you feel better if you suffering from a case of the blues, or a little stress. The single will feature on her debut EP release Make It Last, which is set to be released on the 9th of October.

POP Music adds, “Margot eases her listeners into her important message of self-love with gentle and lighthearted beats and vocals.”

The new single is intended to make you feel lighter, in Margot’s own words, “This song actually went through a long writing process. Frank Slimm and I started this one in April 2019 while I was still living in Berlin and it got shelved for months while we were working on other projects. When we dug it out again, I couldn’t believe we left it for so long! I drafted up a new set of lyrics and it all fell together in about two days. The song itself is about self-care and self-love, taking time out of the day to look after yourself and enjoy the little things, and to remind myself that the time I spend working on myself is just as important as the time I spend working on my career.”

With fragrant sounds and soaring vocals, Margot calms your world down for the next three minutes leaving the listener to hit the repeat function over and over again.

In his song ‘Dive (ft HEDDIE)’ he follows the 80’s electronic embellishments of some of his musical inspirations and combines sultry lyrics and a contemporary soundscape with a melodic beat.

Louis La Roche talks about the album,” Saturday Night Griever was written from April 2017 – June 2019. I set out to make this a collaboration record, with vocals on every song. It’s very much a Pop record, which is something I’ve delved in but not fully explored before. All the collaborations were done remotely except one, which was recorded at The Old Hit Factory in London. The albums title and opening track were inspired by what I was reading in 2017 about UK music venues closing, nightclubs struggling and people not going out as much as they used to.”

April 3, 2020 Lycio release sultry song ‘Nighfall’

Lycio release sultry song ‘Nighfall’

Alt-pop group Lycio have officially released their sultry single, ‘Nightfall’ via Lycio Records.  Their previous achievements include, but are not limited to headlining at Sofar Sounds London, live acoustic sessions aired on BBC Introducing, and performing at Alternative Escape 2019. They have also supported acts Rae Morris and Self Esteem.

The group consists of Genie Mendez(vocals and writer), Charlie Kellie (keyboard) and Alex Lowe(drummer). Singer Genie usually writes lyrics about her current mental state, expressing her thoughts on life. Lycio’s main objective is to empower other females in the music industry, especially in terms of safety, where the band ensures that their fans feel safe and secure when coming to their live show venues . The group members cite various musical influences including Alt-J, Jack Garratt, Janelle Monae, London Grammar, Jungle, Bonobo, Grimes, Charli XCX, Haim, Tim Hecker, Fickle Friends, Imogen Heap, The XX, and Chvrches.

Lycio shares how ‘Nightfall’ came to be, “To be blunt, this is a sexy song. This song makes me feel sexy. Lyrically I don’t want to give too much away as I’d like the listener to draw their own conclusion, but the chorus line “keep your body close to heaven” in itself is fairly provocative. When I wrote the lyrics, I wrote them in a headspace of raw sexuality, I wanted there to be an air of hunger throughout. Down to the way it’s sung, the drawl of my vocal. I want this track to make people feel things and feel a certain way. Funnily enough I had two tracks in mind when writing the lyrics, Wicked Game (Chris Isaak) and Mondo Bongo (Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros), which are both equally saucy songs. So there you have it, Nightfall.”
