Singer Donna Lugassy produces Love & Breakups EP

Producer of her new EP release, Love & Breakups, Donna Lugassy is on the path of success. Besides producing her own music, Lugassy has collaborated with artists like VINAI, 22Bullets, Kittball Records’ Robosonic & Ferreck Dawn, as well as DJ Sidney Samson’s Deadly Zoo project. She has also featured on influential Youtube channels like Spinnin’ Records, MrRevillz, La Belle Musique, Basshall Movement, FunX, and Tribal Trap. Her total stream count is fast approaching 4 million.

Luggasy grew up in the Netherlands with her family who is a mixed range of cultures and  ethnicities. As young as ten years old, Lugassy’s talent for singing was noticed. She would at the age of fourteen years attend formal singing lessons. The young songstress would also move on to producing music by herself, as she lost interest in waiting on others to help her make her dreams a reality. Years later, Donna would graduate from Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam.

Donna Luggasy elaborates on her new EP, “In  ‘Moonrise’ there is the push & pull of first getting to know someone. Then ‘Coldest’ is the part where I have fallen for this person and I’m head over heels thinking this is the one I need. ‘Nobody (loves like I do)’ is the part where there are beginning to show cracks in the relationship and I am so invested, letting the other person know I’m all in and would do anything for them. ‘How Bout You’ is about the other person not coming through for me as I feel that they should have and false promises are getting too much. ‘Break Up’ is where I’m getting fed up with the bullshit and reject the other person and get a real big attitude with them and then followed by ‘I wish’, where I feel like I made a mistake by breaking up with them and I have regrets on what I did, rejecting them. Then its usually a wrap and I start all over with a new person back at Moonrise… That’s when the next relationship is starting, to do everything all overagain and repeat the pattern.”

Jonas Blue and singer-songwriter Tifa Chen releases a new song ‘Billboard’

Multi-platinum superstar Jonas Blue has linked up with Chinese singer-songwriter Tifa Chen on new single ‘Billboard’, out now via Positiva/Virgin EMI Records.

A weightless, carefree slice of modern pop, ‘Billboard’ sees Tifa switch between English and Mandarin vocals, with Jonas delivering a typically polished production to match. It also comes with a captivating official video shot exclusively in Shanghai, with the nation’s hyper-modern cityscapes proving the perfect backdrop for the track’s vibe.

The track was co-written by Jonas alongside songwriting royalties Madison Love, who’s previously penned hits for the likes of Halsey, Machine Gun Kelly and Camilla Cabello, and Sam Roman, who co-wrote Lewis Capaldi’s global smash ‘Someone You Loved’ as well as hits for Demi Lovato, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Elton John, Clean Bandit, Disclosure and Little Mix. Jonas and Sam have previously collaborated on a number of tracks, with Sam co-writing Jonas’ singles ‘Mama’, ‘Rise’ and ‘Polaroid’ (with Liam Payne) and recent single, ‘Younger’ (with HRVY).

One of the most recognisable talents in China, Tifa Chen was the runner-up in the Voice of China contest in 2016, becoming the nation’s ‘Best New Artist’ the following year.

Jonas met Tifa Chen when he played EDC China festival last year when the Nanjing-born artist played him her infectious single, ‘Hustle’. A few months later, Jonas was writing ‘Billboard’ and had the idea of Tifa taking a look at a Mandarin translation of the song. She recorded her demo (keeping the chorus in English) and straight away Jonas knew that the resulting track was a hit.

December 12, 2019 Be the first to catch electro-pop duo TGC’s latest release

Be the first to catch electro-pop duo TGC’s latest release

We have big soppy hearts that love the idea of a secret Christmas wedding. TGC with their newly released ‘Secret Wedding’ via Illuminated City fit the bill with Mila’s soaring vocals. The track was released today and we were simply too excited to wait to share it.

‘Secret Wedding’ on Spotify Apple Music

TGC have been picked up by several noteworthy publications including Wonderland Magazine, Rolling Stone Magazine, Huffington Post, Clash Magazine and the list goes on. Within Reverbs we discovered their origins: “Marlow Bevan and Milla Sunde are the duo behind the music and formed TGC after meeting Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts”. You can read the full feature here.

“Call me a fool, but I’m hopelessly in love with being in love. I will always be a Juliet.” Milla Sunde comments on her own emotional connection to the track. Being the nosey bloggers we are, we were immediately curious whether there was more to the song than a romantic title. However, dig as we could, there was no more mention of a secret wedding that we could find. Either way, the power ballad is sure to be a hit, carrying all romantics into the festive season.

Singer/songwriter Shenna shared new EP ‘Blue Memories’

Pop-artist Shenna’s bright singles have consistently glimmered and caught the eyes of many in the music industry. Color and fantasy are a part of Shenna’s identity as an artist. Blue Memories is the latest to continue this trend, this time bringing a gloomy, honest retrospective on her career.

Tracks from the EP have already received acclaim from a variety of publications. “Conversation” was premiered with Popdust and its video with Billboard. “I feel that people are so distracted by the media and technology that we are not having real face-to-face conversations anymore because of the many distractions around us,” she says to Billboard.

At the beginning of Shenna’s career, she found placements on a variety of shows with MTV, Oxygen, Netflix, and Fox. Past projects including her debut EP, Dream in Color, debut LP, Made of Gold and single “Magenta” have all attributed to her achievements. Through these releases, Shenna found a sweet spot in crafting colorful, vibrant tracks that blend identity and genre.

Now, “Blue Memories” reflects and preserves this momentum, recognizing the struggles it took to get to define herself. As a seasoned performer, Shenna understands what artists do to establish an identity. Being both Black and Syrian, Shenna was encouraged to go into different genres, craft a fake persona and ultimately not be herself.

“When I started, many people in the music industry wanted to sell a sexualized image of me and refined me to only slow R&B jams. Nothing is wrong with being sexy, but being put into that role wasn’t me and I felt forced into a box. Blue Memories is my process in expressing myself through my own voice, instead of those around me.”

“Blue Memories” speaks out against that influence and finds solace in her ability to be proud of her own identity and style, “For a lot of artists they will change their identities in order to get attention for their career rather than the music itself.”

Being both African-American and Syrian, Shenna possesses a multi-cultural style of music that blends all of her interests in one. The Arabic-inspired instruments and vocal runs used in “Blue Memories” were an accident that had felt natural to her. She chooses to make her identity a part of her music naturally, rather than exploit it.

The six songs of Blue Memories are all reflective of the different aspects of depression and the way society and social media perpetuate false selves that lead to low self-worth. Blue Memories offers another raw emotional side that comes from the success of the industry, now Shenna is hoping to change it and be self-assured in her future as an artist.
