The Beautiful Blū take a stand in new song ‘One Final Day’

With a message in mind, The Beautiful Blū have released a pop-rock single titled ‘One Final Day’, taken from the forthcoming album iGenocide. The single and project alike see them addressing socio-political issues ranging from genocide to political marketing and ideological themes of Nationalism.

Less about surface and more about depth, the song is a revolt against the political agenda that tries to convincing the youth to estrange themselves from people of other nationalities, set over a heart-beating piano instrumentation. In an anthemic protest, British vocalist Bill Ryder-Jones takes the position of a propagandist selling glory at the cost of living. It’s a strong cause and an equally strong record.

The Beautiful Blū shares: “Our upcoming album “iGenocide” reflects the experience of interacting with survivors of such atrocities. Not everyone came into the studio with the same exposure to the people who suffered through these events. Yet, we were able to bond as musicians around the music. In doing so, it served as a beautiful reminder that music emphasizes the qualities that bring people together, as opposed to pushing them apart.”

Alt-pop singer Tally Spear release new EP

Tally Spear has released her brand new EP Tally. The EP displays the varying sides of the London singer’s unique brand of alt-pop, which combines a dark gothic touch with a glamorous carefree shimmer that’s also steeped with attitude throughout.

It features brand new songs including the hard-hitting rock track ‘City Girl’ and a cover of Cream’s ‘I Feel Free’, created with King Charles, which injects an indie pop edge among the psychedelic reverie.

The Tally EP also includes her highly acclaimed singles ‘Already Gone’, ‘Can’t Find What I’m Looking For’, ‘What Do I Want’ and ‘Oddball’.

The EP’s tracks have been produced with Martin Hollis (Adele, Tom Walker, Mark Ronson) and Max Marlow (Kodaline, Declan MeKenna) as well as Marc Dowding and Anthony Trueman of Sound Collective.

Regarding the new single ‘I Feel Free’ Tally says, “I wanted to transform the original Cream track from its ‘light and happy’ sound to something a little darker, offering an eerie contradiction to the positive lyrical repetition we hear in the song of ‘I Feel Free’. This track is a definite contrast to the EP’s themes of confusion and uncertainty, perhaps hinting to what I fundamentally desire.”

Continuing King Charles says, “I’ve always loved this track, the feel is great so it was cool to try it out with Tally. We weren’t too precious about the sessions, recording vocals in the control room and most of the experiments ended up in the mix. Tally has a lot of ideas and it was fun to bounce things around.”

Ahead of the EP release Tally has achieved great support from the likes of Radio X, BBC Introducing, Music Week, Clash, Gigwise, Diva Magazine, It’s All Indie and more. She’s also made an impressive impact on the live scene previously playing Hyde Park’s British Summer Time, supporting Akala at Vegan Camp Out and headlining a packed Upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s.

With the Tally EP she comes armed with her distinct punked-up pop, ready to make a big statement this summer.

Marcus King releases a new song ‘Say You Will’

Marcus King has shared the fiery rock ‘n’ roll track, ‘Say You Will’, taken from his Dan Auerbach produced, genre-bending debut solo record, El Dorado – due out Jan 17th, 2020 via Snakefarm Records in the UK.

King comments, “The classic rock ‘n’ roll feel of this song is meant to inspire an emotion to make you want to move. You’ve got Bubba’s kick-drum coming through, heavily pronounced in a bulldozing fashion, and the sleepless fuzz guitar tones are designed to hit a nerve. Combined with the lyrics, this is a song that will take you on a ride through a tapestry of my favourite influences – Mountain, Joe Walsh and Eric Clapton. When listening, you should be rowdy, whether at work or at a cook-out!”

El Dorado is a contemporary exploration of southern R&B, country-soul, classic rock and blues, where subtle acoustics and pedal steel shine bright alongside raucous electric guitars and blistering solos. Marking a new sonic direction and with King’s remarkable voice taking centre-stage, El Dorado is set to further establish him as one of the most soulful voices of his generation.

Meanwhile, lead-off track ‘The Well’ already stands as one of his most successful releases to date, receiving widespread US radio support (#1 on the AAA radio chart in the US week of release), plus critical acclaim from key US tastemakers. The track’s cinematic video is out now.

At just 23 years old, King has established himself as an enthralling world-class live musical talent. He recently embarked on a 70-plus date world tour with The Marcus King Band – one of the hardest working outfits on the scene today, performing over 140 shows in the last calendar year alone. King has also found the time to appear on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and perform with Chris Stapleton on his US arena tour, as well as curating his own hometown festival – The Marcus King Band Family Reunion.

El Dorado was recorded at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio; the songs were written by King and Auerbach along with famed writers, Paul Overstreet, Ronnie Bowman and Pat McLaughlin, and performed by legendary studio musicians who have worked with such iconic artists as Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley and Bobby Womack. King and Auerbach co-wrote the 12 featured songs for El Dorado in only three days…

On working with King, Auerbach states, “Marcus is known by so many as a phenom guitar player, and rightfully so. He’s regularly the best player in the room, hands down. However, I was equally blown away by the way he can sing – so effortless, so soulful, straight from the heart.”

Playing professionally since he was 11 years old and discovered in his teens after a video of him performing at Norman’s Rare Guitars went viral, King is a fourth-generation musician who followed in his family’s footsteps. His grandfather was a country guitarist, and his father continues to perform live. King recently made his debut at The Grand Ole Opry, playing his grandfather’s guitar

Music duo rosecoloredworld release music video for ‘Walking on the Sun’

LA-based pop duo, rosecoloredworld, continue to take on the Sunset Strip with the release of their debut single’s music video “Walking on the Sun.” Addison Scott and RAE merge their real-life romance with mystical energies to throw a tea party complete with rainbow lollipops, giant sunglasses, glam trimmings and FUN without any of the pretension.

rosecoloredworld did right by their namesake and mission statement in their debut music video. Their energetic vocals and funk-filled beats parallel the video exactly and tell the story of who rosecoloredworld is and what they’re about. The video plays out like a Friday night party that just happened to be caught on film because for the most part, it was. The band invited their friends and family to take part in the video in order to allow for a genuine glimpse into their rose-coloured world and those who helped them create it.

The couple’s unwavering positivity is heard in the single and they wanted the video to be a visual representation of that as well. With the help of a local artist, Jim Budman, who immediately understood their vision, they were able to turn their fantasy into reality. Budman opened his Venice studio to rosecoloredworld and their family to host the psychedelic kickback where they were about to express their radical energy and welcome all who listen to join their rose-coloured world.

Born out of two burgeoning solo careers on parallel tracks, Addison and RAE met at a show while both wearing rose-colored glasses on the night that Tom Petty passed away. Although music came first, their undeniable chemistry brought them together romantically as well. Addison has adopted RAE’s spiritual calling to help the homeless, raise money for Children’s Miracle Network, and speaking at schools to promote kindness, respect, and love. This is the foundation rosecoloredworld was built on and will be a reoccurring theme throughout their upcoming release. rosecoloredworld will be taking part in Sofar Sounds in NYC on December 2nd.
