Bulgarian songstress Y A N A teams up with producer Gena for ‘Fast Lane’

Noir-esque songstress Y A N A croons, seducing listeners in black and white, her sultry voice a soft, yet confident palette of attitude and breathiness. Having teamed up with Gena, a recognised producer in Blugaria’s music scene and a member of the Hip Hop group So Called Crew, not to mention a featured artist on Stereofox’s Bulgarian Beat Wave, vol. 1 compilation, the songstress has released her latest offering. ‘Fast Lane’ is the first single from her forthcoming 9-track album titled Under My Skin, which will land in stores on the 25th of May via Stereofox.

“Under My Skin is a journal,” she says, opening up to listeners and readers alike. “Very intimate, real, vulnerable. It takes you through my fears, desires, parts of myself I’ve never been honest or brave enough to share.” Her latest single is her first diary entry, so to speak. In it, she writes about love and euphoria in swirling curls, inscribing the bliss of the honeymoon phase in an open book of her binding.

Ezra Veda releases harmonious debut song ‘A Brand New Day’

The first time Ezra Veda started creating music was during her high school period. In the school band, it became clear that she had a beautiful voice. Soon the first proposals came from the music industry to write songs and specially to sign with them. The then-teenager let it all happen resignedly. “I’d better finish my studies first and then I’ll see what else comes my way,” was her answer.

A few years later, the time has come. The now 22-year-old releases her first single ‘A Brand New Day’. A beautiful pop song in which Ezra’s voice is perfectly at home.

The single opens small and subdued and grabs you from the start and then slowly opens and guides you to an apotheosis to return to a sensitive outro. Before you know it, you’re at the end of the song and you think, hold on wait a minute, and you’ll listen to it again.

Songwriter Jacob Lee explores a new style in ‘Easy For You’

Lowlyland Records founder and independent musician Jacob Lee has dropped his new single ‘Easy For You’, a record that signifies a shift in the producer’s artistic direction. He says, “This track is a departure from my usual production style and represents a step forward in my personal growth as a songwriter and producer.” The shift has occurred at a critical moment: March and April will see Lee tour Europe and the UK for his The Lowly Lyricist tour.

Making the change without losing the signature philosophical approach to lyric writing, Lee aims for the essential in his new record. Up close and personal, his spacious vocals harmonise in a gentle, layered melody that carries his message along with it.

The song title and chorus lyric, ‘Easy For You’, sounds like a remark one would make during the heat of a fight. Does Jacob feel misunderstood? I think so. Listening to the record, I hear the frustration of feeling like ‘they just don’t get it’, a relatable experience that Lee has managed to pack into just over 3 minutes of warm bass, syncopated rhythms, and heavy synth crashes.

We believe the reason for this is because he imbued intimacy into new versions of his tracks, including an acoustic version of his collaboration with world-renowned trance heavyweight, Armin Van Buuren on ‘All Comes Down’. Cimo tones down the club track to show the fans a softer side of him, turning this energy-filled dance track into an emotionally expressive ballad.

Cimo Fränkel gives admiration and recognition to Cam on a live cover of her glorious track ‘Burning House’. Again, Cimo reveals his vulnerability in this song, with a vocal tone that shows it has meaning to him.

Cimo Fränkel says on the project: “This album is special to me because it wasn’t written and produced in one place. I traveled the world during that time which makes it feel like an adventure. I had to open the album with a song I wrote and recorded with my father because he is one of the main reasons I am in music in the first place.”
