A powerful collaboration, ‘Stronger’ displays a moving, spoken word vocals combined with the soulful sounds of HGC and a majestic house production that grows in intensity and atmosphere across the track’s three-and-a-half minutes.Stronger’ is the result of Blinkie feeling present, feeling stable, feeling strong and being in a good place after months of struggling with his mental health during the suffocating lockdown that has characterised the last year or so.

Speaking on the release, Blinkie explains, “after going through a dark and intense period of my life, I wanted to create something uplifting for myself and others that are or have experienced similar circumstances to what I have. I feel privileged, being able to create something so beautiful in hindsight has brought a deeper level of comfort because a blessing has come out of some hard lessons.”

He continues, “my hope is that the song represents hope and serves as a guiding light through darkness for those who need it. I always try to make sure that my music has a positive uplifting message, so collaborating with House Gospel Choir just made too much sense, we have similar values and they have incredible voices. Everything feels like the right fit and feel for the sound and message I was trying to convey”

With tens of millions of streams across his back catalogue and an array of radio support from the likes of Nick Grimshaw, Scott Mills, MistaJam, Reece Parkinson, Jordan North and DJTarget across BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, Blinkie has firmly established himself as a leading light of UK music. His last single ‘What You Want’ was playlisted across Kiss Dance and Capital Dance after being crowned as Mistajam’s Future Anthem on BBC Radio 1.

Having recently remixed a track from Craig David and KSI, Blinkie also produced 2 Top 40 singles for Manchester rap star Bugzy Malone, including the artist’s highest-charting single. He has also worked with the likes of Lana Del Rey, Giggs and Wretch 32, having additionally remixed AnneMarie, Major Lazer, Sigala and more. Not stopping there, the London talent also runs his own record label PXL Records. Stretching beyond music, Blinkie runs the men’s clothing line Profit X Loss, which has been sported by big names on both sides of the Atlantic: 50 Cent, Yo Gotti, Young MA, and Ghetts.

Bringing together a group of outstanding singers, songwriters, DJ’s and music makers, House Gospel Choir’s live sets create a fusion of the biggest house and gospel tunes that make every performance an unforgettable experience. They burst onto the scene with ‘Salvation’, a debut single that was crowned BBC Radio 1’s ‘Hottest Record’ by Annie Mac, peaking at #1 in the Music Week Cool Cuts Chart and #5 in the Billboard Dance Club Chart. They also released their acclaimed debut album RE//CHOIRED last year.

A genuinely moving collaborative single, ‘Stronger’ brings out the best of Blinkie and House Gospel Choir.

April 30, 2021 Composer Mattia Cupelli does not conform with ambient song ‘MONOLITH’

Composer Mattia Cupelli does not conform with ambient song ‘MONOLITH’

Incorporating ambient quirks into their sound, Mattia Cupelli creates the scene for undiscovered mystical spaces and people. His latest single ‘MONOLITH’ starts off with an ominous tone that lingers, building tension throughout the duration of listening to the track. One might think what could this all mean. There is no foretold story with this song, yet I feel like I have been overcome with emotion that can only be described as inquisitive to what this could mean for this music producer.

Stream/ download: ‘MONOLITH’

We hope that ‘MONOLITH’ ‘s overall arc will come to light with Cupelli’s upcoming album release titled RUINS via MC Records, in July. The producer was born in Rome, Italy which is known for its historic landmarks. Italy is less likely known for its impoverished cities and landscapes that are still in existence. Maybe he could have been inspired by these once desirable destinations and formed an electronic narrative around the feelings of being forgotten?

Whatever this young producer was inspired by it has got our attention more than we dare to have imagined. Not compromising his ideal sound to fit a specific genre tick off box, Mattia creates worlds that one cannot think of when you feel the pressure to conform.

The Other Loversees Little Dragon team up with Ghanaian American vocalist/songwriter Moses Sumney—who released his widely acclaimed double-album “græ” earlier this year—with a track that showcases his unmistakable voice alongside the equally inimitable Yukimi Nagano, the two vocalists intertwined over a gently unfolding swirl of synthesisers, horns, and stripped-back percussion.

The track draws it’s lyrics from Little Dragon’s ‘Another Lover’ taken from their latest album, New Me, Same Us”, released earlier this year on Ninja Tune and lauded by the likes of the New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, The Guardian, Mixmag, Crack Magazine and many more. Entirely self-produced and recorded at the pioneering Swedish band’s studio, New Me, Same Us”  saw the band go back to basics, falling back in love with their instruments: drums, bass, keyboards, harp, guitar and voice, to produce some of their most focused and best music to date. The album hit #5 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart in the US, with Mixmag calling it “a futuristic record bursting with lush textures and elevated by lead singer Yukimi Nagano’s sublime vocals” and The Guardian finding them on “on deliciously soulful form”.

The band’s hugely popular and highly regarded live performances have spawned a decade-spanning touring career, including festival highlights such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Bestival, Sonar, All Points East, Dimensions Festival, Parklife, Lovebox, Love Saves The Day, Melt and Dour; co-headlining the Hollywood Bowl and Berkeley’s Greek Theatre with Flying Lotus supported by BADBADNOTGOOD and sold out two nights at London’s Roundhouse. While the global pandemic has put touring on hold, the band joined NPR Music for an intimate Tiny Desk (Home) Concert filmed at their long-term home-built studio in Gothenburg, Sweden—watch that here.

December 1, 2020 Alt-pop trio Polary release upbeat song ‘Nothing In Common’

Alt-pop trio Polary release upbeat song ‘Nothing In Common’

Since bursting onto the scene with blistering singles “Nothing” and “Losing Sleep,” electrifying alt-pop three-piece Polary continue to impress with their latest release “Nothing In Common. Based in Cheltenham, this vivacious young band are masters of the alt-pop genre, seamlessly blending the sound of heavy guitars and nostalgic synths against rousing pop vocals and effortlessly wrapping it all together in stellar production value. This new release is the perfect showcase for their sound that can be heard in full effect in lockdown-inspired hit Nothing In Common.

Speaking about the single frontman Harry explains “I was consciously writing something really different lyrically this time. It’s been a mixture of finding the right sound to embody this, and also putting to bed anything I wanted to say in the previous singles. “Nothing In Common” is about young romance and the reckless attitude that goes with it. You think everything at that point in your life is so big, and recalling that feeling felt right for this single.”

Having already landed a coveted slot on the Neu Stage at 2000 Trees Festival, racked up performances alongside The Faim, Circa Waves, The Beaches and YONAKA , whilst also getting nods from Rock Sound and Upset magazine, this young trio have proven themselves quick off the mark when it comes to industry recognition and if Nothing In Common” is anything to go by, this is sure to continue!
