Singer/songwriter Hannah Grace releases a new song ‘Blue’

Hannah Grace has released her brand new single ‘Blue’ via Never Fade Records. The new song finds Hannah bounding into 2020 with a bright new twist on her soulful sound. She enlists funky keys and horns alongside a bright pop sensibility as her jaw-dropping vocals fly high with feel-good assurance.

The single has been released to great support from Radio 2, with plays coming from both Graham Norton and Dermot O’Leary. Michael Ball is also a big fan at the station and has invited Hannah in to perform a live session on the show.

Regarding the single Hannah says, “I am beyond excited to share my new song ‘Blue,’ which was one of the first songs I wrote for my album and was quite different to anything I’d written before. I wanted to write something that made me feel good, something I could dance to and really enjoy performing live.”

“I wrote it about being tired of feeling blue all the time! I wanted to put all of my energy into feeling positive. It’s been very helpful for me to sometimes just be distracted from the stresses of life and surround myself with kind people and music to dance to! Everybody gets down with the pressures and sadness of the real world but sometimes you just have to let your hair down and let it go.”

Hannah is gearing up to release her debut album in 2020. The album will feature ‘Blue’, as well as her previous single ‘With You’ and also her gorgeous cover of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Praise You’.

Released last year ‘With You’ was added to the Radio 2 playlist and saw Hannah make her debut TV performance on the Sara Cox show. Her cover of ‘Praise You’ also proved a huge success and was used to soundtrack a Lloyds Bank advert before going on to sell over 60,000 copies in the UK.

Hannah Grace has also made an impressive mark on the UK live scene. Last year she played her largest show in support of Barbra Streisand at Hyde Park, while she has also supported the likes of Jess Glynne, Gabrielle Aplin and Hozier. Hannah has also previously caught the attention of Lady Gaga who tweeted a video of Hannah singing on YouTube and called her “a superstar”.

The Burma release music video for ‘When You’re Gone’

Indie rock group The Burma have released a fitting video to their track titled ‘When You’re Gone on the 24th of January 2020 via Spooner records’. The video features the band members performing with shadows cast around them, infiltrating them, warping around them and their appearance, as to suggest that they have regret and are being haunted by it. The black and white grading of the video adds to the somber, blunt and confessional lyrics of the track. With their first single release in 2018 to date,  they have performed at Vantastival, Doolin Folk Fest and Whelans Ones to Watch. They have opened for acts The Academic, The Strypes and Delorentos
.

The band members Tony O’Donovan (vocals), Peter Piggott (guitar) and Cian Doherty (Drummer) took six years to form the band. Each one of them has a musical upbringing, and were all raised in Cork, Ireland. Their name originates from The Burma Steps in their area. The Burma have cited major influences on their music from American Indie music from the early stages of the 2000’s, as well as 80’s and 90’s guitar ballads.

The band shares the issues with filming, “We did the video for this one with Isla Media, our buddies from Cobh. We’ve done a couple of videos with them in the past and we’ve loved them, we have great craic doing them too which helps because it’s usually a really long day. We shot the video in Mill Studios in Dublin, it turned out to be practically the only studio in Ireland that would work for the idea we had. We were giving up hope until the lads eventually found this place and it turned out to be perfect.”

February 24, 2020 Composer Vincenzo Ramaglia & Laura Le Pruenec collaborate on avant-garde album

Composer Vincenzo Ramaglia & Laura Le Pruenec collaborate on avant-garde album

IDM composer, Vincenzo Ramaglia is known for his unconventional style and he brings more of it in his latest album La parole. The album was released on 14 February 2020 via PEM Records and features the celestial vocals of the vocally gifted, Laure Le Prunenec. The album was realized via an alternative set-up, which involved no influence from computer generated soundscapes.

Vincenzo receives his inspiration from talents like  Autechre, Björk, Arvo Pärt and Radiohead for his avant-garde style. Laura Le Prunenec adds her own mark on the tracks with her haunting vocal range. She has vocal similarities to that of Elizabeth Frazer by creating melodies before the word is sung to completion. Laura has received attention from various projects, a noteworthy collaboration would be her involvement with world-acclaimed French band Igorrr. La parole is an equal collaboration for both Vincenzo and Laura to shine in their own light. Vincenzo creates an unsettling soundscape, that Laura compliments with her echoing melodies and soprano range.

“It offers an alternation of hypnotic atmospheres and broken rhythms, somewhere between composition and improvisation, with Laure Le Prunenec’s voice that has long gone straight to everyone’s heart, around the world, with its thousand shades: from the whisper to the scream, from the ‘growl’ of metal ancestry to the lyric and from the bass to the falsetto and to the highest range. The style of the album is at the crossroads between IDM electronic avant-garde (in the mood of Warp and Raster-Noton artists), ‘real-time breakcore’ (with an analog electronic setup strictly without a computer) and experimental pop. In short: a mixture that is not easy to find.”

Sam Bird & Papa Zeus releases new song ‘Run To You’

Former Love Island contestant Sam Bird has linked up with UK artist Papa Zeus to release ‘Run To You’, out 14th February.

Reworking Bryan Adams’ iconic 80s hit of the same name, ‘Run To You’ is a high-energy, feelgood jam that will fill dancefloors. It follows on from Sam’s 2019 DJ tour and official remixes for Example and Madism.

To coincide with the release of the track, fitness fanatic Sam is launching the ‘Run To You: Fitness Challenge’, using his influencer network to invite fans to go from the couch to 5KM. In the final week, all entrants will meet at Clapham Common alongside Sam and fellow ex-Love Islander Adam Collard to take part in the run.

Shifting his gaze towards the music world, Sam has since toured and played out across the UK, Mallorca, Ibiza, Bulgaria and the Greek Islands in support of hit-maker Joel Corry. Sam’s own Spotify playlist has also received social support from Grammy-nominated superstars Camelphat. As energetic as ever, the Norwich-born stud has just signed to Tik:Tok as an official influencer and starred in MTV’s Ex on the Beach: Peak of Love show in the US.

Blending mainstream accessibility with timeless songwriting style and soaring soulful vocals, Papa Zeus burst onto the scene with debut single ‘About You’, a feelgood, CeCe Peniston-sampling hit that many dubbed as the sound of the summer. The track received support from BBC Radio 1 mainstay Scott Mills and Mistajam on his ‘Dance Anthems’ show, going on to generate over 12 million global streams.

‘Run To You’ is a feelgood, fitness-focused dancefloor workout destined to become one of the sounds of 2020.
