Kitzl shares video offbeat new video for ‘Wizard Girls’

Producer and composer Kitzl has released her quirky new video for ‘Wizard Girls’ taken from her album 40 Moons That We Know Of. The video  premiered on tastemaker publication Clash Magazine.

Kitzl is a turntablist master and  showcases this in her song ‘Wizard Girls.’ Taking sounds that one  wouldn’t think to use in music – she and has, has created a sonic masterpiece. ‘Wizard Girls’ is fantastic, combines elements of ambient-electronic-pop, art pop and experimental shoe-gaze into one beautiful cauldron pot of sounds.

Speaking on the track Kitzl explains: “We filmed it all in Elora and in Guelph, close to home. We were chasing an unearthly, neon forest kind of vibe. In the day the wizard girls laze around and recharge, and at night they get down to business. The night-time stuff was really cool to film because the lights in the dark trees immediately looked so eerie, exactly how we’d hoped. I made a lot of moth friends that night.”

MUST WATCH: EULENE Brings Out Lyric Video For Her Second Single ‘Megalomaniac’

New York-born, Nashville-based Electro-pop songstress, EULENE has revealed the lyric video for her second single, ‘Megalomaniac’ today. The song was taken from her highly anticipated upcoming self-titled EP via GoGoLove Records.

EULENE has a very free-spirited approach when it comes to her music. Her electro-alt-pop sound is unique and uplifting, with undertones of Grimes, the dance-inducing vocal hooks of Robyn,  and more experimental elements that you would find in an artist like Son Lux.

‘Megalomaniac’ is an incredibly infectious track where EULENE pairs industrial hits against an abstract vocal flow. The track is a cauldron pot of catchy guitar riffs and a pulsing bassline bristling beneath the simple beat. EULENE’s vocal abilities are definitely the star of the show as she exhibits a vast range of vocal stylings and phrasing that will put you on another planet. The video itself is an impressive display of artistic ability with a catchy sing-a-long feel to it, it is most definitely a must watch for all.

EULENE had the following to say about the single: “Megalomaniac is about excess. The excess of wealth and power…the excess of a dose that poisons.”

July 8, 2019 JULA releases video for debut single ‘Leave’

JULA releases video for debut single ‘Leave’

Emerging talent JULA has shared a video for her track ‘Leave.’ Released via Tall Mountains Records, the video is a wonderfully unpretentious visual to accompany a beautiful track.

JULA always knew she wanted to be a musician, from the age of four she was singing and dancing to Madonna, making her own shows in her bedroom and performing for her family. She went on to study jazz vocals and cites her jazz studies as an influencing factor in her sound.

‘Leave’ is her debut single and she talks of the idea around the track: “I remember when I first had the idea for this song; I was at home with my loop station just improvising, making soundscapes. It was a cold day and as I sat there, this song just came to me. It’s about a feeling I sometimes have, a weight that I carry with me. A feeling that overwhelms me, which I can not escape. I wallow in it for a while, cover myself in it and then, all of a sudden, it’s gone. It’s a very lonely feeling, very dark, but it’s not necessarily negative, it’s a part of me I have learned to accept and even appreciate sometimes; without the low, I can’t experience the high. That is what ‘Leave’ is about.”

The video is well conceptualised and sees a heavily made-up JULA against a stark desert background. Watch below:
